Thought I would share some pics of a game played at Portbury Knights Club Saturday. sides had 30 regiments of infantry, 3 regiments of cavalry and 5 batteries of cannon each. Became a very hard fought draw after the Rebs had looked certain to win! Pics here

Do enjoy the rest of the site as well.

That looks like a proper battle.

Good looking troops & terrain, too. The bases blend right inot the ground cover.

Thanks chaps; I use scenery flock and static grass on the bases. Infantry are Pendraken, cavalry includes some Minifigs. Rules are 'Napoleons-Legacy' ACW period. The table was 12' x 4' representing a front of 1.6 miles.

New website I've just got together including a new forum people are welcome to join even if you do not have the rules concerned. link

Thanks – bought the rules from Magister Militum at a show and sat down and read them this afternoon.

Looking at the ACW section, I found the opportunity fire rules a surprising add-on, I take it there is twice as much firing going on than with the earlier periods ? – is this to show the rifled weapons starting to dominate the battlefield?

I like the large print.

Stefanpanzer10 May 2009 5:01 p.m. PST

yes; the op fire, which you need to be very careful about using BTW, is the flexibility and rate of fire found on the ACW field. You will find that Napoleonic and ACW plays as you would expect despite being in the same book; the period did have evolution. Thank you for buying the book!

Also the larger print is because we are crotchety gamers who hate having to squint at tiny type to see what the rules say! the game is meant to be fast to get that realtime feel so the book needs to have speed reading in mind too! ;)

Apparently over 670 of you had a peek! Wow!
