Hot on the hells of the M4A3 76mms, and "Charlie" Company, I have painted a significant amount of US armour circa Ardennes, essentially comprising three commissions, they include the following: Company B – Hellcats, Stuarts, M8 HMCs, Jeeps BAM – M8s, M3s Some minor up-detailing for those with a sharp eye, various manufacturers' stowage and decals. Russky and Germans next

Stunning brush work Neil. I always enjoy seeing what you have just painted. |

Do you use an airbrush for anything? |
Troop of Shewe | 03 May 2009 6:58 a.m. PST |
Of course, doesn't it show? |
Chortle | 03 May 2009 7:41 a.m. PST |
Whatever you are doing the models come out beautifully. Do you spend a lot of time working with the airbrush on a particular model? BTW, what airbrush do you use? |
Troop of Shewe | 03 May 2009 8:58 a.m. PST |
Iwata HP-C. The airbrush work is really at the start of the process, much quicker and more effective than painting(IMHO), although to be honest its the post-painting (air or otherwise) weathering and detailing that really make the model. |

Neil, you willing to share any tips on the weathering/detailing end? That, is where you're models really shine

Great work as always Neil. What I like about your weathering and the overall finish is that it is just the right level IMO. Not too much like it was sitting in a junkyard, yet not showroom floor finish. I like how you do a lot of the new releases from the different manufacturers. Great stuff! |

I always share tips and techniques if asked, unfortunately the answers are distributed across a couple of forums and here! There is an aspiration to formalise these, but as with everything it takes time and eats painting time. I may start odds and sods on my blog, we'll see. As always if you have any more specific ??'s just ask ;o) neil"at"troop-of-shewe.co.uk Ref: new releases i try and be in the first shipment of most of the manufacturers new releases, win win around. Mind you there's still some best sellers, i've lost count of the amount of JTFM Panthers & Pzr IVs and BAM M3's i've done now -lol- |

You could put together a very nice book Neil. You have all the eye candy and I'm sure there would be an audience for a tutorial on your techniques. |
