Does anybody know anything about Action 200 1:200 scale WW2 range.

I think this is approximately 10mm ???

The range of vehicles looks to be very comprehansive but what do the figures look like? I don't expect the infantry to be highly detailed but I would like them to be reasonably good. Anybody got a link to some photographs?

They are very old sculpts and don't hold up very well these days. They are smaller than most modern 10/12mm ranges.

Is this Skytrex?

yep, old skytrex. they looked bad in the 80's.

The truth is that the vehicles are excellent. All the turrets rotate as well. Infantry on the other hards is crap. They are about 10mm. They are considerably smaller than N-Scale 12mm.

I would easily reccommend the vehicles but your wasting your money on the infantry. Most folks go with Adler 6mm figures for Infantry. These work very well and the Adlers are really much larger than other 6mm infantry.

I have several pictures ofthe vehicles if needed. To me they are as good as the Minifig 12mm (N scale) but don't require assembly and paint up well.

You are right about the selection of vehicles. The line is extensive. To bad skytrex won't correct the problem with their infantry.

Skytrex are 1/200 -- which is much smaller than the 1/160 to 1/144 ranges by Minifigs, Pendraken, Pithead, Wargames South etc which are commonly referred to as 10-12mm.

I think Skytrex should probably be referred to as 8mm -- as they are between the 10-12mm ranges and the 1/300 or 6mm ranges.

If you go with these you need to be aware that they are a unique scale, so the range better cover everything you need!

Many thanks to all who took the time to respond.

I will look elsewere for my infantry.

Infantry about 8-9mm high, Small even compared to small end true 10mm let alone the N Gauge scale that passes for 10/12mm these days. The vehicles are not bad but a little on the small side, if you do not mix with the same vehicle types in other ranges, it will do.

Hey Broglie, any joy?

Some guys at the Club are using Skytrex Action 200 for FoW.
Vehicles/Guns etc. look ok, but agree the infantry are poor.
I thought i'd join in so am considering getting some also.

I'd bought some Adler US infantry, although nicely cast/detailed, they are still noticeably smaller when compared to the Skytrex blobs (so much so I'm probably going to off-load them).

Still reluctant to buy Skytrex infantry, so does anyone else produce 1/200? Google-fu no success…
Why 1/200 anyway, seems an esoteric choice?

By my reckoning model train Z-scale (1:220) or N-scale (1:160) are closest. Looking at 10mmWorld dot com, it seems that the 10mm trend is to the eyes? Making them 1:144ish (12.5mm overall based on a 5' 10" height?)?

Any advice?
Cheers,
Wilf

Does anyone sell these in the US?

Thanks

I have loads of 1/200th ww2 and modern vehicles as 10mm wasnt really about when I got them. Used to use irregular minis 1/300 inf bases with them but am in the process of "upgrading" them for Adler. Vehicles are pretty good for the price, a lot better than the 1/300 on offer from skytrex and Hovels do a good line in buildings….

I agree with the previous assessment about the quality of the figures, but it must be stressed that neither the vehicles nor the infantry are compatible with 10/12mm (from the low end of 1/160 to the high end of 1/144).

It's really a separate scale, they don't fit at all into the "more or less mutually compatible" 10/12mm figures of Minifigs, Wargames South, Pendraken or Pithead.

I am facing the same problem with the Skytrex infantry.

Now we are two years later. Are there any alternatives or solutions that work, right now?
