I have about 200-300. All of it for OGRE. Am happy as now that i have aquired a model of every MK of an ogre.

GypsyComet18 Apr 2009 1:09 a.m. PST

Several hundred in OGRE and GW Epic and some scattered SF from other lines. No historicals.

Cosmic Reset18 Apr 2009 5:32 a.m. PST

Around 3700 modern and WW2 painted, maybe another 200 unpainted.

Lou from BSM18 Apr 2009 4:14 p.m. PST

Is a bajillion a number? I have over one thousand early war alone for France 1940. Everything is organized for 1:1 scale games, including aircraft.

Moving on to Moderns and inter war period, probably another 2K US/USSR/WG/UK/WaRPAC/Dutch/Belgian/Danish/Canadian…

Then… another 750 Arab-Israeli.

The above totals do not include aircraft, of which I have entire squadrons of modern a/c. I had even begun (nearly completed) an entire carrier air wing, in 1:1, for Vietanm era gaming. F4, A4, RA5, F8, A7 you name it…

The sad part is, ever since I got back into ancients, my armor is sitting in boxes in the garage, collecting dust and spiders…

farnox18 Apr 2009 9:23 p.m. PST

I've been collecting since the late seventies.
Aprox 4,000 WWII
Aprox 1,000 Modern
Aprox 500 AIW

Only about 50% painted however. I used to be really anal about my paintjobs but as I get older I am less fussy about them. If I don't speed up my painting much of my army will never see the table.

camelspider04 May 2009 2:16 p.m. PST

I have literally thousands of pieces of microarmour for the only period I game, the Chaco War.

By the way, I think it's "how much microarmour do you own," not "how many."

le200105 May 2009 11:30 a.m. PST

Interesting TVs Frank what type of aromor was used during the Chaco war? I had thought this was mostly an infantry conflict? Do you have micro scale infantry for the war as well? Any pictures would be interesting to see your stuff. Do not think I have heard of many people doing the Chaco war especially in 6mm.

archstanton7305 May 2009 3:22 p.m. PST

Lots and lots--A whole Soviet tank division in 1-1 about 750 afvs and about 1500 infantry--To fight them a BAOR Brigade of 2 tank Regiments 1 infantry battalion plus recce etc--So all in all about 3000 figures and vehicles….
Need more though!!

Norman Of Torn05 May 2009 6:19 p.m. PST

I only have SciFi microarmor. Excluding infantry I have 244, including infantry I have 588. Not quite a regiment for two factions in Ogre/gev.

cheese11 Aug 2009 8:25 a.m. PST

Not a lot. I've got over 300 AFV's (99% are WWII), and lots of infantry stands.

I think I have enough to do the following (in Command Decision):

2 British Infantry Battalions and Sherman Battalion (late war)

1 German Inf. Regiment
1 German Panzer Regiment (mid and late war)
Halftrack Battalion

Soviet Inf. Regiment
2 or three Tank Brigades (mid and late war)

MaxVertigo14 Aug 2009 12:47 p.m. PST

I have a few hundred WWII and modern total. However, I know a guy out at Ft. Leavenworth who has about 30,000!!! It's freakin insane! Plus he has a bunch of the old Army terrain boards which are incredible.

christot14 Aug 2009 1:48 p.m. PST

A few hundred models, mostly Soviet and German mid-war…anyone want to buy them?

jimborex14 Aug 2009 4:20 p.m. PST

I'll bet some of you have more Panthers and Tigers than Hitler ever had.

jimborex14 Aug 2009 4:21 p.m. PST

Christot, ping me at sgtjj at hotmail dot com. I might be interested.

chrisswim215 Aug 2009 6:59 p.m. PST

In Moderns, I got a few… well, I had about 100 CinC Leopard 1A2, sold 30 or so to one person and 60+ to another guy, still have 100s of them(or leopard 1a1 and 250+ Lpd 1A5)….then with different micro armor I then sold off 200+ to a person few weeks ago, 35 here, 40 there, 18….I haven't made a dent.

In 1:1 scale, in tanks & AIFV (exclude trucks & soft support) field a US Division or two, also an ACR maybe The bulk of my tanks are M1A1s, couple hundred M1A2 and 4-6 dozen M1. Have B-52s, B-1 Bombers, B-2, SR-71, a few F-15s, have some helos too.

Besides US, I have Germans with couple hundred leopard 2A6, 60 Leopard 2A5 (ghq), 60 Leopard 2A5 (CinC – Unpainted, want these, sale/trade), 200+ Leopard 2A4.

My Germans and French or British would need to work together to beat Mick33252 and his US Division and ACR. He has 400+ M1A2 and 150 M1A1 or so. So I would need to combine my Germans with either French or Brits to match up with him.

Have South Africans, Isreali, Italians, Dutch, some China(haven't kept up with them)forces, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Jordan, etc. When India and Pakastan were having border dispute 12 years ago or so, we were able to play that one.

In WW2,want to lighten my load of Pz III, Pz IV, Tiger 1s, Tiger IIs, Stug IIIs, etc. Also lighen my WW2 Russians and US. Have some CinC NIB of Japanese want to get rid of.

Have Battle Tech mechs. Also battle tech tanks for Dirtside II. Also Renegade Legion and several different types of models, some with dozens or a dozen in number.

Anyone want to pick some up or unload some.

I am working on my command & control functions by basing TOCs, trucks, Hummvs, with special radar detection & jamming vehicles on a 4 x 4 inch magnetic base.

Also, if you wish to game in modern micro armor, Sat August 29 is a game in Gainesville, FL. You are invited.

Ray in Calgary15 Aug 2009 9:50 p.m. PST

I have some where in the region of 2000 painted ranging from WWII to near future Sci-Fi and probably double that in various stages of work and wishful thinking.
However if you want to see a really impressive collection try this fellow's.

Thousands far too many to count….

Napoleonic ………..3 to 4000 French God know how many Russians??? Swedes and British / Portugeuse.
ACW; sold recently for £300.00 GBP so you guess how much…
WW1;
British Grand Fleet and the German High seas fleet!
WW2;
German; Pz Div 1940 and 1943/44 at 1 to 1 including supply and ambulance columns
British; Armoured Div and an Infantry Div plus 1st Airborne.
French; 1940 DLM and DCR plus three Algerian Infantry.
American; Combat group.
Battle of Britian squadrons of Heinkel III's V Spitfires.
Modern
four Russian tank regiments and mot Inf plus three flights of Hinds (which I love)
British Challlenger regt.

I use these scales for the large battles and my 15mm now for large skirmish games (96 men battalions)..

OMG its a lot

MajerBlundor16 Aug 2009 8:35 a.m. PST

A few hundred moderns. And I just sold my 15mm WWII collection to convert to 6mm.

I enjoy combined arms games and to get the maximum variety of troops on the table I play at battalion level (1 stand = 3-4 squads, vehicles, guns, etc.). At 15mm+ that level looks weird to me and essentially plays at a 1:1 scale given the size of the terrain models. That visual distortion is reduced with 6mm figures.

Garmankirk28 Jan 2010 11:03 p.m. PST

Ive been in the game since 1980…My Pacifican Armed Forces currently have 1100 tanks, and armored vehicles in inventory, each tailored to a forward deployed mission specific task..ie airland combat, city killing, or GWOT

The nation, with its 12 federations, normally procures modern and Up graded WWII armor from the NATO nations: America, Britain, and Germany. Nordland, The Shires, Aleu, and Rohirran have the bulk of this armor inventory.

Caprica, with much of its poulation Asian, and Trans Pacific expats, prefers to procure from Russia..with a view toward upgrading these vehicles with state of the art ERA, and other armour packages, along with American or UK targeting systems and engine enhancements..while retaining Russain missile defense packages…

Texas Grognard28 Jan 2010 11:55 p.m. PST

Good grief you want me to count 'em ALL?!! Okay well Between my gaming club and myself we have scads of Nord Afrika Brits, Eyeties, and Jerries. We have enough Crusader II's to field a division! We also have a respectable amount Late War Jerries, Amis, and Ivans and a smattering of Brits. Overall it would fill a Sabol Army Transport with 1 inch trays. Good Grief!!! And we still need more Panthers and IS-II's and Fireflies, OH MY!!

Salut y'all!

Bruce the Texas Grognard

badger2229 Jan 2010 12:02 a.m. PST

When I stopped I was gathering the 21st panzer at 1:1, and had a big chunk of it done. Plus latewar and americans and japanese, some russians. Probably more I dont remeber. landing craft arirplanes. To many to give away. And if I sell them two weeks later I will meet somebody that wants to play and I will start collecting them all over again. So keeping them is a sort of insurance.

MrPlasmablastGames29 Jan 2010 5:37 a.m. PST

Jesus, some of you guys here have more models than I've got stock for the Plasmablast range!

Being a "manufacturer" makes it very easy for the woman (and others) to accept all this tomfoolery that is designing, producing and playing with lots of miniatures.

I wonder, how does one get away with it without giving any "promise" of getting some money back from it at all?

Lookingglassman29 Jan 2010 6:50 a.m. PST

Approx 10,000 pieces all modern:

7500 Soviet vehicles
2200 American vehicles
240 British vehicles
240 German vehicles.

bgbboogie29 Jan 2010 6:58 a.m. PST

Put it like this my WW2 6mm Panzer recce btln is 180 vehicles alone.
My Russians 1980's force is over a 1000.

AND then theres my 12mm……

chrisswim203 Mar 2010 12:56 a.m. PST

Lookingglassman, we need to get together and play some. Where are you? I am in Jax, FL, USA.
I have a few pieces of micro armor.

War Monkey03 Mar 2010 12:31 p.m. PST

Well I used to have a few thousand of them, until I had to go overseas for couple of years, had them all packed up nice and neat, and stored at my mothers till I was able to return, she thought she would have a yard sale and most of my stuff just had to go to include a hundred or so of box games, Avalon Hill, SPI just to name a couple of brands! Plus many of other Minis. Of course she told me this all after the fact, her reasoning was "Well I thought your just to old to be playing with toys." And I never even saw the money she got for them either!

Flat Beer and Cold Pizza03 Mar 2010 4:02 p.m. PST

Exactly three: one Tiger, one Panther, and one Panzer 4 special. I thought about getting into this scale until I saw a tutorial where some Johnny used an airbrush on a 6mm tank. HEEEEEELLLLL NO!

DanLewisTN05 Jun 2010 5:07 a.m. PST

I just did an inventory last month. 613 painted and 509 unpainted, not counting infantry. Mostly all WWII North Africa. Working my way forward. May do Europe at some point.

Captain Gideon05 Jun 2010 7:33 a.m. PST

Many years ago i used to have a very nice selection of Micro Armor,i'd say 1,000 to 1,500 pieces.

I had German,Russian,British,American,Japanese and some oddball stuff.

Captain Gideon

Cog Comp05 Jun 2010 5:53 p.m. PST

I think I have an entire Battalion of WWII Russians (infantry, with another battalion of Armor).

Then, I have another Battalion of Epic Imperial Guard, except that they are based for Striker and organized into platoons, companies and finally the battalion (around 700 individual minis), and these are supported by several Adler Mid-Tech APCs (I will probably replace those with the tracked stuff that Adler has just released).

I have a Battalion of Tau (except the platoons are Much smaller than the Imperial Guard, so the total number of minis is only around 250), with a Devilfish for each squad, and a LOT of drones (yes, these are the epic scale, and they cost me a fortune), and I have been working on sculpting proper tanks for them that are not just their APC with a different turret stuck on top (sort of like using M-113's with a 110mm gun for MBTs if you asked me).

Then, I have a LOT of Alder's Sci Fi stuff, around a Company of each (infantry and Armor), so around 100 vehicles and 200 infantry total for both sides)

Then, I have a ton of Renegade Legion minis, but have yet to be able to find a decent set of Infantry to go with them. (I know that I have around 18 each of the Heavy Tanks, with around 28 to 36 of the Medium and Light tanks each)…

I used to have thousands of OGRE/GEV minis from running the game at conventions, but they were stolen by my ex/late-wife.

BravoX05 Jun 2010 9:37 p.m. PST

About a 1000 or so WWII, painted and based.

WombatDazzler05 Jun 2010 11:52 p.m. PST

about 200 WW2

Norman Of Torn06 Jun 2010 8:27 p.m. PST

Around 500, including armor, infantry and trucks. All of these are Ogre/GEV, all painted. This is enough to field a regiment for each of the two major factions (NAC and PEF). Need more though…. just don't thell the wife I said that.

donlowry06 Jun 2010 9:01 p.m. PST

More than when this thread began.

KJdidit06 Jun 2010 9:36 p.m. PST

Cog Comp: try the Exodus Wars line for TOG/CW infantry. The Guild Prefect Snipers and/or Prefects for the TOGgies and the Guild Legionnaires/Legionnaire Support Squads for the rebs.

And, yeah, more than last year – by about 250 stands of scifi inf and 300 tanks between AIW and scifi, and another 100+ Aeronef/Land Ironclads…

Martin Rapier07 Jun 2010 7:35 a.m. PST

6mm is so old school. I'm on a 2mm jag at the moment:)

OK, OK, they are WSS so don't really count….

I too possess more 6mm stuff painted and based than when this poll started. I had quite a bit to start with.

security forces07 Jun 2010 12:30 p.m. PST

Have not counted them but so many I put the GHQ kids through collage on my own.
