"How many microarmour do you own?" Topic

I just counted about 650 models/bases in my WW2, Modern and Sci-Fi 1/300 – 1/285 collection, including armour, artillery, infantry, trucks etc – all painted. And of course, I want more!!!

I wonder if 650 models/bases can be considered a small, medium or big microarmour collection? How many models/bases do you have at home (but painted and based, not bare metal…)?

Like you, I have too many….and yet not enough.

As a consevative estimate – about 2,000. Really must paint some more…

Anyone need to unload any 6mm infantry/civilians/etc (modern or 20th Century)?

Sold/gave away nearly all of mine, mostly when I moved to 15mm.

I had Divisions for Command Decision (WW-II and NATO/WarPac)

Less than 300 if I don't count infantry bases. I'm barely a beginner. But they're all painted to some extent.

In World War 2 I have 200+ German, 400+ Soviets, 200+ US, 100+ British. In SciFi probably about 200 bases total.

So maybe 1100-1200 bases of painted stuff. Plus another 200 bases worth of unpainted…

A pathetically small amount compared to you guys!

Lets see, I have 2567 German WW2 bases, 941 US WW2, 976 USSR, 786 British. Modern; 678 USSR, 200 US, 100 German and 457 NATO bases. Ohh wait they are 10mm not micro armour!!! LOL!

None. Used to have loads (Epic 40K… about 3 or 4 armies plus some GZG vehicles). Sold traded or it all off. Just too small to excite my painting efforts.

back in the early 1980s, as the S4 of the Military Intelligence Bn, I had the keys to the Fort Riley Simulation center. The boards were were all designed for use with 1/285 scale items. Also the boards were for our action area in Germany.

So needless to say, I had 100s of microarmor tanks for every WW2 country. For modern, I just used the stock at the Center.

Not counting infantry and artillery crews, a conservative estimate would be about 7,000. Consists of U.S., German, and Russian WW II. 90% painted.

Tecnically I just started, so I have 10 M60A1s and 10 T-62s (I'm doing a "War in Europe" circa 1976, so all MERDC all the time!). Next up are another batch of M60's -- this time A2s, and some APCs (M113s and BMPs).

Enough to do a Soviet division in 1:5…and a US brigade…now I am building Brits and Germans. But, if I count my CBT/Dirtside stuff…well, then it gets rather large.

Between WWII/AIW/Modern and SciFi – 'bout 700 tanks, 25 aircraft, 300+ bases of INF/guns. Need more. LOTS more. ;)

I have 243 WWII and Modern tanks inherited from a friend who was never going to paint them plus about 20 of the FASA Renegade Legion grav tanks.

For WW2 about 3900 plus 500 infantry bases. For modern about 1100 plus 200 infantry bases. Time to fire up the airbrush and basecoat another batch.

About 700 pieces, but that's just an estimate. Due to be sold off one of these days, as I've pretty much fully switched to 15mm for my WWII gaming.

I have around one dozen M1s. I found them painted tan in an antique store c. 1991.

Just about 100 bases, but most of it is painted. I know, a newbie.

I know there's a lot that like the size and cost of these but . . .

If I want a tank . . . it should at least be a touch higher than the lazer pointer.

LOL – I just love that comment.

At one time the term micro-armor in all its spelling version was the property of GHQ. So it could not be used to describe all companies that make 1/285 or 1/300. I do not know if that is the case anymore.

back in 1984 the owner made me change titles of one of my rules sets to take that termm off the cover. it was no problem to do so and I understood his position.

I have a battalion of Shermans and a company of Panzer IVs.

I have a good number of WWII MicroArmor consisting of 3 seperate armies: 1940 French, Soviet mid-war, and American late-war. I haven't counted, but I suspect that I have 1000+ vehicles and infantry stands painted, maybe a lot more than that.

I also have a large (what other kind is there?) Imperial Guard army for Epic 40K, but I have no idea at all how many I have of those.

Hundreds and hundreds, maybe thousands and thousands. I really don't know, but getting on for twenty A4 sized trays excluding stuff still awaiting painting and basing. Everything from WW1 through to AiW. I've still got some of the original Lancashire micro-models and those awful Skytrex vehicles with pins for guns.

A rough estimate…2500. But I'm sure some are hiding, so its probably closer to 3000!

Too many to count. Too many of some kinds and not enough of others. All WW2. Mostly Germans and Americans of late '44 to '45. Some Brits. Some painted, some not.

For Command Decision I had a modern (circa 1985) Soviet MRD with BTR's and a US armored cav regiment with M1 and M3. Plus a British Armoured Division for WWII.

I've still got elements of Kuwaiti, Iraqi and Saudi units boxed up in the basement.

Not enough. I did a rough count of one sci-fi group… came in at around 150 vehicles, plus around 150 stands of infantry. I have at least 5 or 6 different forces, plus a pile of WWII US stuff, and a nice smattering of 100 or so moderns. Nope, not nearly enough. I better order more. Hm… GZG or Brigade next…

Smokey, 6mm infantry from GZG and others is dirt cheap. A platoon for a few dollars.

BTW I'm working on 1980s modern using the World at War boardgame rules, my favorite system ever. So far some Leopards, Marders, and support. Sci-fi not much yet.

I have got to book-mark this thread and show it to my wife! She thinks I'm mad, but i've only got 200-300 sci-fi miniatures!

I fancy a bit of 1980's NATO V WARPAC but i thought of using Osmial Odsmy 3mm. A bit more room for manouver on a 6x4 mat.

Probably about 400 vehicles and similar infantry bases – I use DS2 rules, so a compact force is quite possible to play good games with. And with the practically zero avialable funds, it's likely to stay that way for some time.

Just started a while ago – 3-400 painted. 4k++ bare (need to get the airbrush hooked up).

Just got rid of the last of my 1/285th-1/300th.Im now converted to using 3mm-1/600th now :). I have about 300 aircraft,30 Coastal craft and am starting on aquiring more of the 1/600th infantry,guns and vehicles. Robert
