I have learned that Gundam Gashapon are pretty much the coolest thing since pie. I figure, there are a few threads discussing it, but once it's all said and done, rarely do we see any results of these events, well here is my tribute to the Gashapon. I will be updating this thread until all my figures have been shown. I encourage you to add your own pics. For reference purposes, try to add the name and set your Gashapon came from, so others may attempt to get it as well.

To start us off, I offer these 3 figures. All were based on Heroscape glyphs which are 1.5" from flat to flat.

Gundam Heavy Arms (EW) – Gundam Collection DX 5 – picture

Gundam Dynames – Gundam Collection 00 – picture

And to answer one resounding question, here are two other figures which are standing on some Heroscape terrain (marvel Master Set) with some Monsterpocalypse buildings.

Please post your own stuff, I'll be adding to this as I get more time, just thought I'd throw up some teasers.

Where are you getting Gundum Gashapons?

(and, great stuff)

;)

Glenn M12 Apr 2009 5:19 p.m. PST

HLJ.com , My friend and I went off the deep end, ordering a total of 50 figures (though 12 of which are the wrong scale, being 1/144) so if you slashed that case we could have gotten them much cheaper. We wound up paying around $2 USD per figure. I am sure a little scrounging could net you some cheaper, so check eBay and google for Gundam Trading Toys or Gashapon.

Actually $2 USD a figure is pretty cheap state side. Even the tiny 1/400 scale ones go for $3 USD in my FLCS. The little bit bigger ones are usualy around $4-$5 each. Have you look at the 1/200 gunpla models on HLJ's sales pages? I think there is 3 sets at like $12 USD a case of 10 or 12. But they are all from the first Gundam series.

Do you repaint them or just use as is out of the box?

"But they are all from the first Gundam series"

And that's problem why!?!

SIEG ZEON!

;)

It's not to me but some folks might not like the creature look of some of the older Zeon mechs. Oh and they are actually 1/288 not 1/200. Sorry, I went and looked them up and I had the scale wrong. Would be nice to face them off against some kaiju. The United Earth Defence Force tries to save the planet from the mind controlled monsters of the evil empire from dimension X. Or something like that.

"The United Earth Defence Force tries to save the planet from the mind controlled monsters of the evil empire from dimension X"

He he. I think you just summed up 90% of the Godzilla films :D

wolvermonkey12 Apr 2009 9:54 p.m. PST

Tru that. Anime and tokusatsu too I think. Maybe gashopon of the sentai rangers series mechs would work better for that than Gundams? Ah, but those aren't on th sale pages. Yet.

MacrossMartin12 Apr 2009 10:33 p.m. PST

Cilidar, don't you know Godjira-sama is here to save us all? Granted, real-estate prices in Tokyo may plummet, but still…
Glenn, nice inspiration. I use the Gunpla figures myself, although I do have some 1st series 1/400's that I've 'magic washed' and varnished – to my delight, that's all they needed!
They're all in storage right now, but I think I'll go grab some tomorrow and take some shots. Stay tuned…

wolvermonkey12 Apr 2009 10:41 p.m. PST

Gah! They are on the sale pages.

Nice Heroscape setup for Gundam 1/400. There is nothing wrong with the 0079 line. They look more like combat machines, not like the new ones who are too much of fantastic cool machine.
