I'm really thinking about getting a game played based on the old 'Voyage of Sinbad' movies animated by the great Ray Harryhausen and using the X-Plus resin figures as the monsters. Would anyone know about the GURPS book 'Arabian Nights'? Does it have a chapter or two devoted to this kind of gaming? Also, what about suitable Arabian-type figures in 25/28mm. I know about Reaper's collection, but I'm sure I'm missing some other manufacturers. Thanks!

For miniatures: - BTD fantasy "Saracens" ( including flying carpets ) - GW has the DOW Al Mukhtar's desert dogs, the archived Bretonnian Suliman the Sarazin, and a Mordheim Arabian merchant - Eureka has Turkish pirates - BTD historical "Warriors of Islam" - Artizan Designs Moors - Gripping Beast Moors - A couple female characters in the German DSA line - RAFM has a male and a female desert warrior ( I have a fantasy Arabian army using most of those ) I put up a size comparison of most of those here: link Hope it helps WK |

You couldn't go wrong with GURPS arabian nights as far as background is concerned. However, unless you were going for a really detailed skirmish game the rules wouldn't provide much. I have used the GURPS rules for a gladiator game and thoroughly enjoyed the session. Depends on the participants and what you want to achieve I 'spose. I think GURPS is great though. Matt |

Pinacle's new game 50 fathoms (I believe that is the title) looks to be game along the line of what you are looking for in terms of pirates and adventure. I have seen the figures for this game, and they are really nice. |

If you'd want to try 1/72 figures, Italeri makes some Saracen Warriors that look good: link These would be really cheap for a bunch of figures. andy |
