Would be a really, really ugly girl – especially with the mustache Seriously – if Hitler was a girl in the Second Reich, probably do the three K thing (kirke, kinder, kulture) but maybe be involved in post-war politics – but not likely to have the influence he did in the real world – post-Second Reich Germany was still very much an old boy's club |

History would remember Eva Braun even less favorably. |

S/he would be a middle aged house frau who never was in WWI, who never would have been able to create anything political at a grass roots level. Without the veteran creds, the disaffected beerhall types would have ignored her rabble rousing. Maybe she would have been a spinster artist in the extended Wiemar republic, which never would have fallen, as s/he would never have started the party which overthrew it. Quite boring, actually. Perhaps he would have been the German version of Frieda and become a less known painter with a mediocre repertoire? |

A few seconds later, after the bleach kicks in
.. Reichsfurher Herman Goring with the same crowd of hangers-on, probably no internal purge of the party so the 'Old Guard' of SA would still be around. Lots of shouting & posing, but Herman probably didn't have the maniacal drive that lead to the complete takeover of Germany politically and the extermination of the opposition. Nat. Socialists still retain most of the power but have to keep the other movements happy. WW2 still takes place, but in the late 1940's with technology equivalent to our 1942-43 – Russia versus everyone else. |

H(Sh)e would currently be in charge of the US Congress? |
Sundance | 07 Apr 2009 9:42 a.m. PST |
anleiher – do you mean the House of Representatives? The Congress is made up of the House and the Senate together and has no one "in charge". Along the same lines though, the current Secretary of State/former First Lady? |

Even considering the Joan of Arc reference would 1930's German culture accept a female leader. The French maybe, historical precedent, and cultural differences and all. If it did somehow happen, and if you include all of Hitler's prejudices and insanities. To start with other nations would not have taken Germany seriously (Strategic surprise to start with). Internal strife from status quo prussian leadership may have consolidated earlier. Things in Germany may have been nastier, never under-estimate a womans ability to be evil and cruel. |

You'd be more comfortable with a strong leader, perhaps. Someone with a winning smile, a comb-over and a cute little toothbrush mustache

She would have falen in love with Heinrich Himmler, who would still be "der traue Heinrich". And don't ask anything about the children! @Blackjoke. Very kind for us, but too kind. France was one of the last democracies to allow women to vote. A short story to show average Frenchman's feelings about women. In 1945, men from the infamous Milice were judged for many murders and atrocities in Grenoble. The head of the local military resistance was in the court as a witness. She happened to be a young and smart upper class woman. The judge asked why she took weapons, as he believed it isn't a respectable woman's role to kill. Superb answer: "Mister president, a woman had to take back weapons, as the men dropped them aground in 1940
" The judge couldn't speak for minutes. |
