Any wargames (both fantasy and historicals) shops in London?

I found the " Orcs Nest" very good, but it was years ago since I was there. If it still exists, its just past Picadilly circus.

Another one in Museum Street, just next to the Britsh History Musuem, they usually have stuff on sale.

Orc's nest is still there. Don't expect any customer service. It's in Earlham Street. They shrink wrap their rules and it's hard to browse books because of this. On the plus side they stock Renegade, Reaper and some Ground Zero, nearer to Cambridge Circus ( other side of Leicester Sq ) .

Central London is actually very bad for wargames supplies. I get most of my stuff at shows or mail order because of this fact. I reluctantly shop at Orc's Nest as there is nowhere else convenient for me to go!

Someone mentioned some other places around London on the board about a month ago; you should try doing a search on keyword 'London' for some more shops.

Orc's nest DO actually have a pretty good web site, which kind of makes up for their lack of people skills.

This is not meant as a major bash of Orc's Nest by the way, just don't expect to have a warm welcome, their RANGE is quite good. I also suspect they are perpetually on the look out for thieves in the shop, which might explain the less than genial shop-keeping.

Orc's Nest refused to sell me a gaming item once. Don't know why they refused a sale of over a hundred pounds in value.

My thoughts at that time:
They were racist since I am not a Caucasian.

major blunder : Customer no more, i only went into the Orcs Nest store once while i lived in London. The person i met was down right rude and obnoxious. I dont know what his problem was, and frankly i dont care either.

I haven't been recently but I always found that I was just ignored in Orcs Nest until I was ready to pay. Which is the way I like it. The day I can't find something I want in a game store on my own is the day I start phoning the mail order trolls :-)
