Well after some sound advise here on TMP I am going to give this another go and provide a battle report and possibly some pictures, if it works out from photobucket. On Sunday, me youngest son and I played a Star Wars miniature game as outlined below. He took the pictures throughout the game and helped to write up this report.

As the Battle of Endor drew to a close both on the planet below and in the stars above, Darth Vader grabbed the Emperor and fled the doomed Imperial Star Destroyer, Executor, escaping aboard his tie Interceptor following his ill-fated duel with Luke Skywalker. As the Imperial Fleet regrouped and repaired their damaged vessels and tended their injured near the planet Annaj, Emperor Palpatine and Lord Vader, using the power of the Force, nursed their own injuries back to health. While recovering from their battle scars, the Emperor re-formed his plans for conquest of the Galaxy, by making plans to re-take the Ewoks' home world. Without the Death Star to aid in their conquest, the Emperor informed Vader he would personally lead the assault, capture the R2-D2 unit and his protocol sidekick, C3P0, in order to gather rebel intelligence stored within its memory, while not giving in to his feelings for either his son or daughter. While Vader lead the assault on Endor, the Emperor made his own personal plans to re-group with his main fleet and continue to make plans to lay siege on other star systems and continue work on a third Death Star. Vader swore an oath to the Emperor that he would lead the attack, as it was his destiny to confront Luke Skywalker, and he would bring both Luke and Leia to the Emperor.

Meanwhile, on the planet Endor, the rebel forces began to make plans to secure the planet and prepare it for a possible second assault at the hands of the Emperor. Several squads of Rebel soldiers were stationed around the planet and plans were made ready to receive their unwelcome guests.

Luke, Leia, Han Solo and Chewbacca readied their squads as best as they could while C3P0 interpreted Luke's plans to their Ewok allies. The Ewoks, having taken heavy casualties during the first battle, were more than ready to defend their home world to the death a second time should they be needed. All they could do now was wait for the fireworks to begin.

picture

The Imperial Forces landed with a vengeance throughout the planet and immediately engaged the Rebel Forces.

picture

The battle raged on for hours, as the Rebel Forces and their Ewok counterparts took heavy casualties on the eastern and northern borders.

picture

Just as the Rebels started to turn defeat into victory, the Imperial Forces received heavy support fire from the AT-ST's that finally made it into battle.

picture

With renewed energy, the Storm-troopers pressed the fight and the western and southern borders started to collapse.

picture

Luke, sensing the presence of Vader on the western borders put Han and Leia in charge of the central section of Endor, while he and Chewbacca aided the southern borders. Upon arriving, Luke and Chewbacca lay waste to the Imperial Forces. Unfortunately reinforcements arrived led by Admiral Piett, who had also escaped certain death when the Executor exploded into the Death Star during the first battle.

picture

The Ewoks, utilizing the swiftness of their gliders, continued to hold the eastern borders and slowed the Imperial Forces from advancing, despite the heavy Rebel losses.

picture

Meanwhile on the southern borders, the Rebels made a feeble attempt to capture General Veers, the Imperial Forces hero at Hoth. It was with great cunning that Veers made his escape and he rejoined the battle. It was at this point that Luke and Chewbacca took on and almost single-handedly wiped out an entire Imperial squad. Sensing the presence of Darth Vader, Luke regrettably had to leave Chewbacca on his own to battle the continually advancing Storm-troopers. With greater numbers and reinforcements on their side, the Imperial Storm-troopers eventually overwhelmed Chewbacca and he was captured. Although he put up great resistance, he was unable to escape, and he was led off to an awaiting Imperial Shuttle craft.

picture

Having left Chewbacca on the southern borders, Luke confronted Darth Vader, who with the assistance of two AT-ST's, had broken through and decimated a combined Rebel – Ewok force. Vader sensing great hatred in the young Skywalker, reveled in the anger, which clouded Skywalker's ability to effectively challenge him. Using the Force, Vader eventually overwhelmed his son and was able to capture him with little trouble, leading him off to an awaiting Imperial shuttle.

picture

Having contacted General Veers, Vader gave him explicit instructions to capture Princess Leia.

picture

As the borders collapsed and the Rebels and Ewoks having taken atrocious casualties, Han Solo realized that he couldn't hold the advancing Imperial Forces on his own, so he made it back to R2-D2 and C3P0 in order to prevent his robotic companions from falling into the Imperials waiting hands.

picture

Loading them unto the Millennium Falcon, Han Solo set off for Corellia, hoping he could get word back in time to General Ackbar and the rest of the Rebel Forces that the Empire was far from dead, and in fact now had three of their best people….Luke, Leia and Chewbacca!!

To Be Continued….

Anyways, I hope you enjoy this battle report and hopefully the pictures too!!

Always fun to see Star Wars AAR. Great-terrain and board, by the way.

I may have missed it, but I didn't see what rules you used.
Cheers,

I am using my own version of rules developed from my published version of Green Jackets and Voltigeurs (A Napoleonic Skirmish system) and re-writing them for squad or company level and also implementing major modifications to them in order to incorporate the Jedi and Sith. I figure once done, I can pull out the "Sci-Fi" portion and have 2 rules sets…one for Sci-Fi and one for Napoleonic that isn't skirmish scale. I still have some work to do on them, but they are coming along, and each play test is rectifying any problems as they arise.

By the way, thanks for the nice compliments concerning the table and battle report. My youngest son has to take the credit for the photos…I just can't seem to take clear pictures of miniatures up close like he can!!

As for the terrain…it is a combination of Miniature World Maker Terrain that we used to sell as distributors in North America, cheap little Christmas trees picked up during Boxing Day, trees from Michaels, and the bunker comes from Acheson Creations (freebie from 2 Historicons ago from their painting Seminar which I attended). My oldest son did most of the work on the evergreen trees..spraying them green, basing them and so forth. Quite a family effort!!
