Recently I have been reading various Osprey books concerning the RCW. The section in the Osprey Essential History on the RCW on Makhno's Anarchists really caught my interest and I thought it would be fun to put together an Anarchist group. After poking around and seeing various Red and White personalities depicted in 28mm, I noted that there were not any of the Anarchist leaders, specifically Makhno and Schuss. So on Lon Weiss' Brigade Games forum, which will be taking over from his Yahoo group, I suggested that he produce some Anarchist Leaders to supplement his very nice "Storm in the East" RCW 28mm line (as well as other lines like Copplestone Castings). Brigade Games does produce a lot of figures that fill in the gaps of other lines/eras (Who else does First World War Nigerians in British Service?) but these figures have got to sell if they're to be made. If this is something that appeals to you, you might want to drop him a line letting him know such a thing would sell.
Here is the link to the Yahoo group he's phasing out:

I'd like to suggest two people to consider to be depicted in this BG line.
Nestor Makhno, Chief of Revolutionary Insurgent Army of Ukraine
Well pictured in Osprey: Men at Arms 305: The Russian Civil War (2): White
Armies, Plate H #2
Fyodor Schuss, Makhno's Right Hand Man
B&W Picture in Osprey: Men at Arms 305: The Russian Civil War (2): White Armies,

Though an even better picture of Schuss, due to the uniform parts he chose and
truly self-satisfied expression on his face, appears in Osprey: Essential
History 69 The Russian Civil War 1918-22, Page 88
As I have not seen RCW Anarchist leaders elsewhere, I think these would be
unique figures. As one can not really use other figures to stand in for Makhno
and Schuss (as they wore mixed uniform bits, armed themselves to the teeth
(multiple pistols, knives, etc.), and tended to keep their hair in a long
fashion that made them stand out as Anarchists), I think they'd be a temptation
for anyone into RCW.
I would suggest that Makhno and Schuss be sculpted both on foot and riding. If
sold as a blister of six figures (two foot, two riders, and two horses), such a
pack would allow one to be able put together a RCW Anarchist group by buying the
Anarchist Leaders and then some figures from your White and Red groups. I
suggest the mounted sculpts as one, both rode for most of their fights, and two,
these could be sold to tempt people who have figures from other RCW lines (such
as Copplestone's Back of Beyond line or Eureka's Tachanka).
