Where abouts did you acquire the Wildcats? I've been searching for Wildcats, but can only seem to find Hellcats! Paul |

Those are very nice. Retracting the landing gears was a lot of fun wasn't it?! Kevin |

Great looking models. Where did you get the early/pre-war decals? Mark |

Thanks for the kind words, guys. I ordered them direct from the link posted above by Virtualscratchbuilder. They're the first Sweet kits I've built, and I'm now going to order more. They are excellent, high quality kits; parts fit wonderfully (although you're right, Kevin, constructing them with the gear retracted was a real pain!). They come two per box and the decals are included with the models. The pre-war/early markings are from Sweet's "Ghost Fighter FM-2" set, which includes markings for four aircraft. The later schemes are from the "GM FM-2 Wildcat" set, which includes decals for any two of five late-war aircraft. All the models are General Motors FM-2 Wildcats. The early/pre-war markings are FM-2 'covers' of F4F Wildcats, as owned by the Confederate Air Force. It's not 100% accurate since FM-2's never served in those colors, but I've always liked the pre-war pattern and I couldn't resist painting one that way. Now I look forward to gaming with them.
