Hi, some told me there was a free on line game for early iron clad naval warfare. The name of the game was "Smoke and Water" or "Smoke on the Water". He said it was on the internet but I could not find it. Has anyone heard of this old game? How can I find it?

I say Mike, how long has the new Canis page been up? I've been off the ironclad yahoo group for a while, but I seem to recall there was some puzzlement at what had happened to it.

Thanks for the links.

By the way Tim, I was looking at your site the other day and you have a ton of dead links now. Just fyi in case you did not know.

It's not called Iron Ships and Wooden Men?

Make sure you get the 'optional' ramming rules too!

Still good rules – we played a big game a couple of weeks ago. 7 monitors, three ironclads with torpedo boat support.

Although it does cost money, look into Iron and Fire as well. It was designed with an eye to fixing some of the problems with "smoke on the water".

This is the rule set I use and have had great success with both new players and old salts at the conventions.
