They look really nice, I've been thinking about the Raiden Miniatures stuff myself. I think you've just convinced me. |

Very nice planes and very schemes. It looks like you used magnets on the flight stands, what's the hoop under the Macchis? |

Its a ferrous nut. I couldn't get any other method of magnet-ing to work well without a load of work. I bought far too powerful magnets I fear. |

Great looing planes
I am working on a Malta sceanrio too. Our club has had success gluing the magenets onto the planes them selves and using a "uposltery" nails as a basse on the end of the altitute stick. I do grind the nail head flat with a dremel grinder. Ron |

I've got a campaign worked out for Malta, using the players as British pilots, and any casual players + myself playing the raiders. Pilots start out in Hurricanes, and as the campaign progresses, move on to Spits and Spit Vb's. The raids also progressively get bigger and more defended depending on how well the players did before hand. |

In my scenario Malta guys start in Gladiators and Falcos. If all goes well after the first bombing mission (Italains leave the board) the RAF players will roll to see if they upgrade to Hurricanes IIB or C's and eventually if the game runs long enough to Spits. Same idea for the Italains. I have posted a few AAR in the AAR section. Look forward to reading your after action reports. You can also see some photos on our WBiM yahoo site. |

and the blue mats.. were they hand drawn? how did you draw the hex vertices? |

Wow, a post of mine still getting attention! That's a record! Sgt Lee, The bases are Raiden Miniatures Resin Hexes. I then drilled them out to accommodate a 6mm ID 10mm OD piece of tubing. This is araldited in to secure it, and then the rods just slip in and out. Bob, the blue mat is indeed home drawn. It's a 3inch hex mat, made using a template, a pen, and a kneeler! (Just remember to put something under the cloth otherwise you're other half will not be impressed. Mine wasn't at the new hex pattern on the living room laminate flooring. :) If you want more info on how I did the template, feel free to email me gavinparnaby [at] hotmail.com I have a few photo's and the files I used to create it from at home. |
