When I see those symbols on they're hats and sleeves I'm just amazed.

How do you paint like that?!?!

My miniature painting is sucky at best.

Must practice more.

The hat and shoulder badges aren't too difficult (not easy, but not difficult). Just paint a solid red circle (or splotch as I've done.) Then paint a white splotch in the middle covering up the upper left portion of your red circle. Then a thin diagonal line from upper right to lower left to complete the restricted symbol.
It's more of a "implied" ghostbusters badge than a finescale reproduction.
Give it a try!

Once you get their "wheels" (i.e. Ecto-1) they're gonna need a place to park it….

I know that this hasn't been a top topic for a while, but my interest in having Ghostbusters minis has recently beeen reawakened, due to getting the Ghostbusters game for Christmas and just having watched the "Return of the Ghostbusters" fan film.

I like what Evil Cartoonist did with the Heresy inspectors, but wanted a more dynamic pose. Can't do links, because I'm at work and some of the websites it won't allow access to, but I'm currently considering EM-4's paramilitary figures, specifically the ones with SMGs. Other options I have considered are the Void Junkers plastics as a base for conversion or, if you want to go extremely hi-tech, the Space Marine scouts with sniper rifles (their goggles are spot on for ectovisors).

Regarding the vehicle, whilst it would be nice to go the whole Ectomobile route, I am of the considered opinion that whilst Head Office supplies the ghostbusting equipment and livery, they leave it to the individual franchises to secure a suitable vehicle. This might be easier to find than trying to specifically get a 1;43 ambulance/hearse and converting it. So, some kind of 4x4 or van. Maybe a converted ice-cream van…lol

For headquarters, the Plasticville fire station, although only one storey, would make a good HQ for a starting franchise.

Any additional suggestions/comments for suitable dynamic figures for Ghostbusters would be appreciated.

That's some great modeling. I have 10 thumbs so that's why I use toys as my miniatures.

I recently picked up the Ghostbusters Minimates figures and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man bank to use in a demo game of Giant Monster Rampage vs The Swarm.

If anyone is looking Hot Wheels recently released the Ecto-1 in its current wave of 2010 vehicles.

I am using the new Hallmark Christmas ornament for my Ecto-1. Its perfect for 28mm and it plays music. I believe it was It was $18.95 USD and available from any Hallmark store.

Oh sweet! Can you give us dimensions? Length, width, height? Now I need to find a Hallmark store.

Thieses29 Jan 2010 8:58 a.m. PST

evilcartoonist, I don't have my ornament in front of me,(I'm at work) but it is about 5 inches long. The pics I linked to are not mine, but take my word for it, this is the closest Ecto-1 to 28mm scale I have seen. The detail is outstanding. I was very pleased when I found this model.

Also lots of retail stores carry Hallmark Keepsake ornaments year round. They don't just disappear after Christmas. Try not to buy one from the secondary market, as the prices are way too high for something that is still available.

I have been trawling the net again and am now somewhere where I can post images.

As a base for conversion, i.e sculpted hair/replacement heads and the addition of suitable backpacks, what do you reckon to the following as possible ghostbusters?

And they are not particularly expensive either…

Those aren't too bad at all. And it shouldn't be too hard to convert their guns to proton throwers.
