I've notice lately that there are a lot of us asking (myself included) for help in locating a specific types of miniatures for our games. Maybe TMP should have a section where the miniature seeking folks can go and post what type of miniature they have in mind and the rest of the community could respond with their suggestions. The request could cover any genre
like – Pulp, Horror, Victorian, Western, Sci-Fi, Ancients, Civ War, etc
Or cover gaming type - Skirmishers, Mass units, etc
It would be a mixing pot thread to simply handle helping like minded gamers in finding what they're looking for. I know folks can go into a specific section and make these request. But I just thought it would be easier on those looking for ancients, pulp, sci-fi, etc
to be able to go to one place to ask questions and find answers. What do you all think? |

I think that excessive cross-posting is not a good idea. Neither are ambiguous thread titles. Griefbringer |

I think you missed one or two boards in there. |

If you go fishing with the wrong bait you may catch something you do not want to keep
use the right bait for the target fish
it seems you may have caught a brown toilet fish with this bait
.perhaps a note to the editor would be the place to start rather than the multi-board cluster bomb. Just a thought. |

Jeez, a lot of negativity up there. Constructive but still not very cheery. First, it appears the right place to post a suggestion/ or request like this is in the General category, the message board "TMP Bugs and Features". Second, as to the suggestion, it seems like a good one
except that if one wants say, a 28mm Victorian-dressed gent in a duster carrying a six shooter to play English Bob in a scenario based on the movie "Unforgiven", one might post a query on the "Help me find this figure" board, but one would want to be sure gamers with similar interests see the post, so one would also cross-post in the 19th Century category to the "Old West" and possibly "Victorian SF" boards, and if one was say, Swedish, possibly also in the General category to the "Swedish Wargaming" board. So IMO, having such a board wouldn't reduce the posts to the other boards. |

Seems to me it's for the editor to decide as really it's up to him what's appropriate or not. So, having said that, instead of posting some random "anti post" comments that are, well, really just nasty, how about you take it up with the editor. You'd think that with the world the way it is at least our little community could find it in themselves to be supportive and helpful. TW |

It seems to me that that is already being handled. If I'm seeking a Renaissance figure I go to that board. Is that what you are talking about? Rich |

It's not a bad idea, in and of itself, but I don't think another board is really necessary. The general boards exist for the major topics already and people are pretty helpful. If you're looking for a specific Western figure, for example, a post to The Old West, 19th Century Discussion, and possibly ACW would suffice to find some people who could help you. |
