Yesterday I snapped another picture, just a quick snapshot I took with bad lighting, but you get the idea, I think:

picture

They're flint-tipped primitive spears. I'll be sending them off to the casting company later this week, along with a simple ancient shield and two turtle-shell shields (large and small), patterned after an Alligator Snapping Turtle shell and a Razorback Musk Turtle. The Alligator Snapper shell shield is about accurately sized, but I had the sculptor exaggerate the size of the box turtle shell – I liked the look of the shell, and it'll be about right size for a buckler. All of the shields were sculpted by Tyson Rhody, and he sculpted the spears, too.

The Peafowl are at the caster now, also. Since I broke my hand last month things have pretty much stalled out for the Forge of Ice, but I don't need to be zoned out on pain pills all day anymore so I'm going to start working on my miniatures again. I'll post more updates as I get to them, and as always, I'm keeping up with my blog here:

Oof ! I'm going to need a couple of dozen. Just hope you don't price 'em like they were from the frozen north or something.

Alxbates27 Jan 2009 8:33 p.m. PST
