I need two unarmored Ronins in the 28mm scale… sold individually.

Could any of you fine folks provide a link?

Many thanks!
Warren

What's the difference between an unarmored ronin and an unarmored samurai?

jpattern222 Jan 2009 4:04 p.m. PST

You could be beheaded just for asking such an insulting question!

"You could be beheaded just for asking such an insulting question!"

Right you are!!

Samurai are very touchy about having a master & status. If their master died they killed themselves. Ronin are masterless vagabonds who lacked the courage & honor to kill themselves.

And this affects their style of dress in which way?

Warrenss223 Jan 2009 9:09 a.m. PST

Ahhh… Their style of dress. Just joking around with you, Ceaser. I knew what you meant.

To me it wouldn't matter either way as long as they're not armored.

I like the first one Shelldrake linked to but it's not a 28mm mini. He's second link… well most of those were out of stock… no use to me.

shelldrake23 Jan 2009 1:53 p.m. PST

I have the first one, and I think they are exaggerating if they are 32mm.

Other places sell em4 miniatures, so you might find stock elsewhere

And, yes… I AM trying to make the Vic Romano & Kenny Blankenship miniatures for a game of mine.

If you don't know who these dudes are you might want to try to catch an episode of MXC – Most Extreme Elimination Challenge. If you have a warped sense of humor be prepared to laugh good & hard.

I found another one. Check out the Museum Miniatures 28/SAM01. It includes an unarmored Samurai lord holding a fan in his right hand: link

The kneeling Samurai in that pack would work, too, if you removed the sword. But you don't want to have a kneeling Kenny and a standing Vic.

So get two packs!

:)

Style of dress? You dress much nicer when you have a paycheck. A Ronin has no paycheck.

Miniaturepainter03 Mar 2009 9:52 a.m. PST

Ronin where samurai without masters. Usually poor samurai…but yes could also be nicely dressed but that required cool cash…so guess it was not so common. Just watch 7 samurai´s …not so wealty. Food is more important than a nice dress. Well black hat make some very nice ronin.
I have the museum miniatures as well but not quite up to the other ranges.
