I have seen some not-very-distinct photos of Turkish troops of the Greek-Turkish war of the early 1920s, wearing what appears to be a fez, that is somewhat wider at the top than at the bottom. Did this headgear replace the "Kalabak" of World War One, or were both worn concurrently? |

Both were worn during the Greco-Turk war of the 1920s. I have plenty of photos from various Greek and Turkish books showing both being worn. |

It's a peaked cap without the peak as Ataturk got rid of the fez. It has a arm of service colored band and a cresent and star badge. |

Both were worn by the Turkish Republicans. Also German WWI helmets. |

I now possess the Osprey Men at Arms title on the Greek-Turkish War. Turkish uniform details aplenty:) |

When in doubt, always buy the Osprey! Preferably from me! |
