I'm messing around with a scenario based on the defense of the Loire bridges by the cadet officers of the French Cavalry School, et al, in June 1940. I have rudimentary list of French troops involved (a Babelfish translation filled with things like "Suction Pupils of the Reserve of Cavalry" and "Gobble Captain") but all I know about the Germans is that they were elements of the 1st Cavalry Division. So far, Google has yielded a fair number of French citations (which all say pretty much the same thing) and nothing about the Germans at all. Can anyone point me at an OB, no matter how basic, for the troops involved? LT |

I seem to remember a squad leader scenario based on this, not sure how historically robust the oob is, I will try and dig it out if you are interested? |

Definitely. Squad Leader would provide a very useful level of detail. Thanks. LT |

Not that this is quick or free, but you could pick up a copy of the book, For Honour Alone, by Roy MacNab. Its a quick read, filled with good scenario info for the cadets defense. |

There was a very interesting scenario in an old issue of the french magazine Vae Victis. It's for a french ruleset Section d'Assaut but it can be easily adapted to another ruleset. link |

Excellent! This will allow me to rationalize some of the strange and wonderful things I've gotten from the French sites (e.g.,'riders of 19 dragons') and come up with a scenario that actually makes sense. Thanks very much for your help. LT |

This will allow me to rationalize some of the strange and wonderful things I've gotten from the French sites (e.g.,'riders of 19 dragons') I believe those were commanded by the Gobble Captain. |
