wow! I never knew they made boxed sets and Battle Droids and Destroyer Droids! |

I don't think the droids or the boxed sets actually came out. If anyone is interested in these minis, I've got a bunch in my garage. |

Paizo still sells the limited edition Darth Maul. Apparently, it did not move as well as expected. |

I heard they were given away at the Wizard of the Coast stores during the launch of the d20 Star Wars RPG. They did a poor job letting people know about it as I had only heard about it almost a year afterwards. I still think WotC did a poor job in selecting the subject matter. PC are a nice start, but even RPGers need hosts of badguys like Battle Droids and Storm Troopers. They were probably directed to focus on Episode I, which again was a stupid move (especially given how bad the movie was), but they could have made Battle Droids more available. Had they launched with a boxed set of Storm Troopers, they would have sold them by the bucket. |

The Darth Maul minis were given away as promos, first at GenCon and then in WotC stores when the RPG was released. The reason Paizo has them for sale is that when I left WotC I took a box of 100+ of those with me and I sold them to Paizo. CmdrKiley is right about a box of stormtroopers. When management decided to cancel the line, I argued that we should at least do a set of plastic multi-part stormtroopers. I thought (and still think) that those would have sold like crazy. The brand manager at the time knew nothing about minis or minis gamers though, and he wouldn't even consider it. Foolish. |

Hey FreeportPirate, I'd be keen to get some of those metal minis. I've tried to find a Private Message function here, and can't seem to find it. So, I guess either email me at peter.m.jaensch@gmail.com or i guess I'll look into smoke signals. |
