In the U.S., we already have the GZG-ECC which celebrates Ground Zero Games and their products. If you could have a U.S. show that was themed around a single non-U.S. company and its rules and/or figures, which company should it be? |

Old Glory – sorry – but they have one of the largest selections of figures out there – and they keep getting better and better every year. |

I would have to say OG is up there for the reason Jovian states above. Gripping Beast would be another that I might find interesting. |

The Sea of Confused Customers. Keep in mind that the primary address for the Old Glory Corporation listing in the TMP Manufacturers Directory is in the UK. This makes it appear is that Old Glory as a manufacurer is in the UK, with a convenient international outlet (among others) in the US. No, I'm not done beating that horse yet

If I had to pick one it would be a Perry Miniatures themed convention. I would put on a big Carlist War game and fun would be had by all. There could be stalls where they would sell Perry miniature figures, both metal and plastics. There could be special convention minis and new releases released at the convention. Door prizes would be given out and people would come home loaded with boxes of plastic French infantry. Why, I bet there would even be fireworks. |

I go to conventions to either sell or game so such a convention would have no appeal to me. Mark Severin Owner, Scale Creep Miniatures scalecreep.com |

Like Mark, by the way, I would also find such a convention pointless. By the way, Games Day certainly qualifies. |

Eureka. They have such a large and bizarre range of figure types that the convetion games would be fantastic |

I'm not sure how it is that you guys think you can't game with foreign miniatures. I do it all the time. |

If Pulp Figures had a convention – if Bob were to be allowed back into the US after his last border incident – we could all wear funny hats and spend a weekend chock full o' pulp. |

The reason there is a GZG conference is because of the games they produce, so it would have to be a games producing company, so I would think Peter Pig or TFL are the only two that provide a wide enough range of games

I game with foreign figures all the time too – heck most of them are foreign. My point is that outside of a relatively short list of companies, most companies do not have sufficient breadth for me to want to limit myself to their periods/rules for 3 days. Incidentally that's the same reason I've never been interested in "single-period" conventions either. Nothing against the SYW or ACW I just view conventions as fundamentally about choices. Mark Severin Owner, Scale Creep Miniatures scalecreep.com |

'I would think Peter Pig or TFL are the only two that provide a wide enough range of games
' Maybe not – we currently offer rules for FPW, ACW, Napoleonic, WSS, GNW, ECW and a rather spiffing SF set. With SYW, WOTR, AWI/FIW and Ancients versions all coming over the next few months I think we could join the club. :) Cheers Peter |

I don't understand the premise of this thread. With all the great US manufacturers and products out there and our struggling and wounded economy, why the focus on some to-be-named overseas company? Someone please explain the reasoning behind this idea. Old Glory an overseas based company???? Oh, please. They began in the US, their headquarters location is Calumet, PA. Sounds more like some sock puppet conspiracy if anyone pushes for a show built around Old Glory. A better idea to me would be a dealer-based show/convention like some that held in UK. Toby Barrett |
