Hiya- I am looking for the old style of dice (d6's) that came with the Avalon Hill wargames. The dice are about 12mm and had quite small pips compared to popular styles today. Does anyone know if these are still available anywhere? Or what company made them for Avalon Hill? Thanks much in advance. |

How many do you need? Back in the day, I believe there was only one company in the US that made dice, and it was located in NY, on the Lake Erie coast in the Fredonia area. I do not remember the name though. |

There were many companies that made dice prior to China (Hong Kong) and Taiwan taking over the business Elkoid was probably the largest (Providence RI
home of Hasbro) I seem to recall the AH were something like picture (bottom row

2nd from the left)
please feel free to correct me if I am wrong Unfortunately I dont know a supplier for these dice |

Virtualscratchbuilder: I was looking for about a half a dozen but they seem to be hard to come by. Yes, Rtaylor has it right. The rightmost one on the top is the old AH die. Small pips is the noteworthy feature. Thanks all for the info. |

gamescience made dice in the USA as early as the late 1970s. He did not make pipped dice, only numbered ones. I seem to recall that the Armory made dice as well. SPI dice from the 1970s were smaller than those used by AH. i still have a number in the old AH games that I own. |

Resurrecting this thread as I just started that same quest as Acharnement. After checking Battle of the Bulge (1965 edition), Outdoor Survival (1973 printing) and Britannia (1987 printing). Avalon Hill looks to used the same dice for all of those games at least. The dice are 12mm (just shy of 1/2") what looks like 2mm shallow bowl shaped pips about 1mm apart.
