Hello all, pulp sounds like fun, so any ruleseys people like, please let me know..

Anything in colour, or d6 or d10..?

There is the .45 Adventure line of rules from Rattrap LLC

rattrapproductions.com

Then Howard Whitehouse has this set

Pulp Figures has a free set of rules and also sells some very nice pulp figures.

We can Be Heroes II just came out, it's not set in any one particular period and easily can do pulp. Check out the sample pages.

I think that there is a Pulp set based on the GASLIGHT rules by Buck Surdu.

.45 Adventures runs with a d10 and is fun as #ell! It has lots of variational supplements to the rules to play different genres… musketeers, pirates, weird science, pulp space, lost worlds, etc… Also, your stats deplete as you get wounded.

Astounding Tales uses a d6… it plays fast and the rules also cover lots of different genres. Like .45 Adventures, your stats go down as you get wounded.

Pulp Figures' Rugged Adventures uses d6 and plays more like a fast wargame then a RPG. .45 Adventures & Astounding Tales tread near the fine line of being a RPG

IMHO you cannot go wrong on any of these. .45 Adventures has a set of test drive rules (forgot where… help me out here, Rich). Astounding Tales 1ed (currently it's in the 2nd ed) are free at their yahoo group.

Rugged Adventures is free.

Try 'em out and see which one you like the best.

I have been trying to figure out the best Genre that Sticks & Stones fits into. We will be releasing a "Lost Worlds" type supplement book that ties dinos and cavemen in with late 1800's to early 1900's.

Savage Worlds.

Its supposed to be an RPG but it works great as a skirmish minis rules set. There's a free "Test Drive" online.

Savage Showdown? I always didn't like the incomplete feeling that came with it's magic and powers section. I like the game, but feel it's a line to drag you into getting the RPG.

THe GASLIGHT rules are "…To Be Contuined!".

I love the Astounding Tales, but .45 Adventure is a close second.

Unless you are talking of Pulp ww2, then its AE:WW2 rules! But the horror version of Nuts! is great too.

I also would say ".45 Adventures" is your best bet. I really like it for all the reasons mentioned by Warrenss2 above.

Will also add that .45 Adventures has a companion Pulp Sci-Fi ruleset entitled "Fantastic Worlds"; it focuses on Science Fiction of the 1920s, 30s, and 40s. Good ruleset, doesn't require the original .45 Adventures rules to play.

There is apparently a supplement planned for 1950s sci-fi, too, if that's your cup of tea (Not mine, I'm strictly a 45 or before guy with my Pulp, but still pretty cool to see them covering everything).
