You know a campaign is going well when the gamers start getting into character!

"The Oglala hear the words of their brothers and are eager to shed the white man's blood. For generations the Oglala people have freely hunted the buffalo and moved to the great watering places. Now the white man says, "go here" and we are expected to go here. He says, "Go there" and we are expected to go there. No more will we listen to the lies of the white man. We will take up the hatchet to bury it no more. We will be a free people or we will vanish from the earth forever. We will follow our brothers the Black Foot to the foot of where the earth meets the sky and there He- Dog and his warriors will cut out the hearts of the white soldier's leaders, take many scalps and count many coup.

These are my words.
He- Dog

This is too much fun!
We have a good chance for a battle this turn, but if not then turn 5 looks to be a doozie!

Well it sounds like the rules are doing a fine job with the war of maneuver regardless of the battle. I'm enjoying to hear about the jockeying about.

Currently we are in a war of maneuver, but several times forces have bumped into each other on the plains and near the rivers. We haven't had anybody stand and fight yet.

That should be changing quite soon I would think. Having eight players and 5 different Indian tribes causes trouble coordinating forces. Even with email it is still a test of wills.

I've tweaked the campaign rules a couple times so far as I have realized situations that I hadn't anticipated before. Nothing serious, so the campaign is still running smoothly.

The PowerPoint slide show is truly amazing right now with forces moving, concentrating, dispersing, scouting, running away, etc. Once the campaign is over the slides will be available to all.

Good gaming!

We have our first battle!!! Sans Arc and Hunkpapa warbands being attacked by some of the 5th Cavalry. We shall fight the battle on November 19th at my place.
