I saw boxes of pre-painted 15mm WW2 vehicles at the FLGS today (link for the company below). Anybody bought 'em yet? link |

What were the prices like? |

The website news release syas "Sold in boxes of 5 with decals and even a simple wargame rules sheet! MSRP $39.95 USD to $49.95" So, $40-50 for 5. |

Web site does show anything available that I could discover. |

There was an earlier review on TMP. As the previous thread suggested, that tank they are calling a M4 Sherman is rather squatty and with some odd angles on the front glacis. I wouldn't buy it. |

They're packaged so you can see what you're getting, ala AT-43 or Crimson Skies Clix. GeoffQRF quoted the same/similar prices that the FLGS had. They looked decent enough to me---but I'm not a historical expert. One thing that interested me was one box had a solid paint scheme while another (I think they were both boxes of Shermans IIRC) had camo paint scheme. |

The website seems to say they are/were available from autumn 2008. The news release seems to imply that the first item actually released is the M4 Sherman, but it is very vague on how they are being sold. It looks like they are set up for trade only. At $10 USD per tank, they are priced about the same as UK metal imports to the US, and more expensive than domestic metal items. (Our Shermans currently retail at $8.95 USD each via Wargames) |

Hanomag looks funny – front wheels look odd. |

Will have to see these in person. I believe the problem with the Shermans is they added the plank(s) on the glacis some Shermans used to allow them to carry items on the front of the tank. This tends to give the front an odd angle/look and begs for some equipement (such as spare bogey wheels and the like) to be added. Would have been a much better idea to do the plain front glacis. |
