I thought Mr Ericcson said that his Monitors were wonderfully healthy ships on which to serve (cf Battles & Leaders of the Civil War). Then, as I always thought, he never had to do it!

For a half-sunken steam-powered tin-can, anything that involves not passing out immediately on entry has to qualify as "wonderfully healthy"
