Hi all, How do these three manufacturers of 28 mm ACW miniatures compare in terms of quality of casting detail, authenticity, and ability to mix them with each other? Thanks in advance. Tony |

I have Foundry ACW with Perry plastics and metals and they go perfectly in scale. The Perry plastics are slight on detail, but ACW is pretty bare anyway. Once painted, I have a hard time telling them apart. I'm working on modifying my Perry plastics with some more kit and such on'm. It seems like Foundry tends to be a bit more heavy kit-wise. Might just be me. Renegade I don't have any. |

Renegade are noticably bigger than Foundry (call them 1st generation Perry ACW), and slightly bigger than the new Perry plastics (call them 2nd generation ACW). In my opinion, they wouldn't mix in the same units, but as seperate units, well, everyone's milage will vary. The Perry ACW match much better with Sash and Saber, as detailed in several previous threads. Hope this helps. |

Foundry and Perry (as well as Redoubt and Sash and Sabre) mix really well, both in terms of style and size. Renegadeare about the same when it comes to detail and so forth, but they are noticeably bigger then the others. The big problem is, that not only are they taller but also wider. Their broad shoulders would really make them stand out (like Arnold Schwarzenegger amongsta crowd of office clercs). Cheers, Burkhard |

I find that Perry, Sash and Saber and Old Glory 2nd Edition are the best at looking they belong together.
After that 2 next best I find are Foundry and original Old Glory. However if I was just starting out I would not mix in the Foundry and Original Old Glory, as some of them can be a bit larger. And between Perry, S&S and OG2 you will have a huge selection. And I have mixed in a few Redoubt, but I base 4 figures to a base, so if I mix them in well you can get away with a few Redoubt here and there. |

Agree with the general thread – my Foundry and the Perry mix well, and the Renegades just seem a lot – well, bigger – not as much tall as chunky – as, I am using the Renegades for those well-fed Yankees and the Perry – Foundry (mostly the Perrys) as the lean Rebs |
