A brief update on the "Mystery Fleet Naming Contest" that we started a couple of weeks back
. You can find the original post here: TMP link We've had a LOT more entries than we ever expected (over 40 so far!) and more are coming in almost daily
. I just wanted to say a quick "thank you" here to everyone, as I haven't had time to acknowledge every entry individually by email. We haven't yet had the chance to go through any of the entries in detail – hopefully we'll start doing this next week, after we get back from the FIASCO show in Leeds this weekend. However from a quick glance there look to be some excellent and very well-thought-out ideas so far! More news on the contest to follow soon; hope to see some of you at the Royal Armouries on Sunday (where we'll have a few of the "unnamed mystery ships" for sale along with all our other new stuff)! Best, Jon (GZG) gzg.com |

Heres the latest - Finally, an update and an apology about the FT starship "mystery fleet" contest that we started almost a year ago now! An update because the contest is technically still open, and an apology because we haven't let you all know what is going on with it
. We have had a good number of entries already, ranging from single line ideas to fully-developed backgrounds complete with pictures – our thanks for all of these, and for the work that has gone into some of them. There are two reasons why we haven't announced a winner or winners yet: firstly we haven't had one particular entry yet where we've been able to say "yes, that's the one!" – this is a VERY subjective thing, even more so than (for example) doing a painting contest. The eventual result may well be an amalgam of two or more ideas already submitted, in which case we will ensure than all those people whose ideas get used in whole or part will get a prize of some of the ships; so if you've put your entry in ages ago, please don't assume you haven't won – it's simply that we haven't yet decided! Secondly, we have to admit to having been rather distracted with other projects and thus "dropping the ball" a bit on the FT Fleet one, to the extent that the new ships we'd planned to do for the fleet are not yet ready. We really do hope to get back to it (the contest evaluation AND the ship sculpting) soon, and will do our best to keep you all advised of progress from now on. |

Guess so. Unfortunately, fleet scale gaming isn't very "on my radar" these days. Looking to fix that. -Eli |

The resurgent Hapsburg Empire is still suppressing the news, and taking out anyone that discusses their iron grip on interstellar commerce, and world leaders. What's that noise? Hey, what are you doing in here?!
pfft, pfft
. Arrrrgh
