Having recently purchased the Speed Rally rules and lacking players at the moment, is anyone interested in playing a PBEM game of Speed Rally? To be able to play you need to be able to open a PDF file, have a copy of the rules, design a car according to the rules, and submit the car design and an overhead photo of your car for use on the game board. All dice rolls needed for the game will be done by an online dice roller – all players need to do is submit what they intend to do for their turn. If anyone is interested, please email me at ij_downunder at hotmail dot com and put "Speed Rally" in the heading so i know it isn't spam. - Ian |

I may be interested but have a few questions that may help some others decide. What frequency do you expect to conduct turns, e.g. once per week, once every 3 days? What happens if someone can't get their instructions into you on time? Do you want to limit participation to any particular class of car since the rules support many different classes? What point basis will be used for car design? 3000? |

frequency will be once a week, unless every one gets their turn in quickly, in which case i will proceed faster. If someone can't get their instructions in on time, i will write orders on their behalf based on how they have been driving before hand (i.e. if they are aggressive and attacking other cars they will do so. If they have been taking corners at high speed, i will continue to do so etc), but players can submit a guideline for missed turns before hand if they want. Type of car – thinking of limiting it to sports car or lower at this stage, and as the game progresses include extra car types. 3000 points to start with is a good basis. |

I was planning on doing something similar on my site, which I develeped specifically for running PBEM games. I just got finished with another 4 player WWII skirmish: link and I'm playing in another one at the moment so I don't think I'll have time to participate in your game. But I am eagerly looking forward to the report
By the way, If you are interested in running the game via my site, I'd love for you to try it out
contact me for more info: chtechnical.com/skirmish I'll be glad to give you more info on how it works

Just cranked these out last night -- Finally got a few moments to try some conversions on some matchbox cars my 2yr old daughter has been playing with lately (like taking candy from a baby!) not sure what kind of points value they would be since I don't own the rules for speed rally but thought you may like to see em.. chtechnical.com/cars |
