I am thinking of adding 25mm figs to my Napoleonic gaming experience. But before I do, I thought I would ask for a little feedback from the TMP. 1. Anyone make a "true" 25mm Napoleonic figs? Some of the figures that claim to be 25mm today seem really big. In fact, some of them look down right huge. They look closer to 30mm than 25mm. Being so large, they look like they would be difficult to base, requiring more room to base and therefore larger bases. I would like to base something like either two foot figs or one horse fig per 15mm or 20mm wide base. Is there a 25mm manufacturer that will allow me to do that? 2. I am not known for my painting skills, which is one reason why for my 15mm Napoleonic project I avoided AB figs. Beautiful figs, but my paintig style and skills (or lack there of) could not do those figures justice. Having said that, whose 25mm figs are eaasier to paint than others? Whose are the AB of 25mm and therefore I should avoid? Thank you in advance to all who reply! |

1 – Foundry "older" Naps range (Austrian, most French, Bavarians, Prussians, not sure about the Brits) range are exact 25mm. 2 – I feel Front Rank, while huge, and Foundry are the easier to paint from the ones I've tried. Sash and Saber are also easy. You might want to avoid Perrys with their slim figs (not that harder to paint, really, but probably not as "painter friendly"). |

You want Minifigs, you do (probably)! Huge range. Old-school 'proper' 25mm, not the 30mm monsters you get with some manufacturers picture picture link Not to everyone's taste these days though |

The original 25mm by Scruby
Measuring 25mm to to of head. Not too much detail and still affordable. historifigs.com Let us know if you need a sample or two. |

I find even tho I to am far froma good paniter, the better the figs are, the better the look even with so so skill. in 15mm my Fantassin looks better then Old glory, and my AB looks better then Fantassin ect. the more detail a figs has the better it looks, even if your not a pro when it comes to shadeing ect. |

I'll second minifig. These are about as "true" as you will get to 25mm. mjc |

MiniFigs today are still bigger than the original true 25mm but about the closest you can get. They are a tad bigger than the Scruby figs, but will fit on the table with them. Even some of the MiniFig and Scruby contemporiaries are too big, such as Hinchliffe. Here are pics of some MiniFigs painted by Fernando, they look quite good. picture picture picture picture |

If you are in the USA, the the source for MiniFigs is: minifigs.com/catalog For pictures of masses of MiniFigs, Scruby, Hinchliffe, and a few others, go to our group's web site: link and click on Pictures of Games. Then scroll down to the Napoleonic section and enjoy! Jim |

One thing that you might consider is new Old Glory 2nd edition figures. they are not true 25mm figures, but I know that you would not have problem with basing them. Second, the Old Glory 2nd edition figures will also be offered in an already painted version. If you are part of the Old Glory army, they will cost you a little more than $2.00 USD pre figure ($42.00 for a box of 20 figures). If you are atterding Fall In, you should be able to see some examples of the quality of the painted figures. |

Essex and Eagle will fit on 15 x 20mm and mix freely with each other and with the Foundry. Essex in particular are easy to paint. |

Have a look at our range at napoleon.com.es They are "tre 25mm", and we will also start to produce the old napoleonic range of Phoenix Figures, designed by Les Higgins, fully compatible with ours. |
