Michaels has a selection of cheap plastic sea creatures and dinasaurs that can be easily converted to a waterline model with a bit of hacksaw work. Check out safariltd.com for some ideas. |

Alxbates, I'll second that. I picked up a copy on sale a few months after the Kong DVD dropped. It's a treasure trove for Kong or other Lost World-type scenarios. |

I'm pretty sure it was Sonic drive-ins in the US that had a series of trash-themed toys in kids meals a couple of years ago. There was a pirhana with an intact head and bare bones body that would make a good waterline emerging head several inches high. They still show up in thrift shops and garage sales. |

The James Rollins book Amazonia featured pirahnafrogs which I'd love to spring on players in a pulp game. Now just need suitable figures. Per the book, they are small (1 ft long)swarm creatures and can survive for a limited time out of the water. |

Piranhafrogs? Piranhadons? Oh, Hell CC, just come up to Frisco, TX some time; they're native to the area, don't you know

"The James Rollins book Amazonia featured pirahnafrogs which I'd love to spring on players in a pulp game. Now just need suitable figures. Per the book, they are small (1 ft long)swarm creatures and can survive for a limited time out of the water." I think the MegaMinis "Frog Swarm" are appropriately toothy, though they are a bit larger than 1ft long in 28mm scale. |

Evil genius Dr Katanna (and Pulp enthusiast Jeffrey Scott Jones)invented the terrible cross-species Flying Fish Piranha for our Rugged Adventures games. Kurt Hummitzsch wrote rules for them. They can be found on the Downloads page of the Pulp Figures site in the 'Tools of the Trade' chapter. link Bob Murch pulpfigures.com |

Leland: I happen to know that you guys up in the frozen tundra of Frisco have to import your piranhafrogs from down in my neck of the woods. Heck, we can only send the little ones up there. Teh big ones are too mean and no one will accept them for shipment unless they are suitably 'quiet' – as in 'dead quiet.' |

JWOMACK94, OK, I'll bite; then how do you explain what our Yorkshire Terrier cornered in our backyard this morning: link
And yes, the USPS are a bunch of whimps; I tried to ship a brace of "piglets" across town last week, and was forced to go to DHL 'cause the postal workers couldn't handle the contents of the crate trying to eat them every 30 seconds or so
at least DHL didn't whimp out on me despite the loss of a couple of hands in the receiving dock
I *did* make the crate "Hazerdous! Handle With Steel Gloves!" after all, but I guess they weren't paying close enough attention

Watching Discovery Channel's "Shark Week" (which starts tonight) has me thinking about getting back to the fantastic ideas on this thread. link I'm thinking of getting one of these Shark Toobs and, after cutting a few to a waterline level, add GreenStuff tentacles, spines and other alien-looking bits to them: link The Sealife Mega Toob has lots more goodies that could become the starting point for fantastic creatures: link Maybe take a lobster and try to turn it into one of these sea scorpions: TMP link CC |
