I personally heartily disapprove of the 90% glues we have been forced to use before this wonderful 100% glue product became available. Why do sockpuppets only ever serve to completely put you off the product they're promoting? |
jpattern2 | 28 Sep 2008 12:25 p.m. PST |
I'd like to buy some punctuation, please. Now I'd like to solve the puzzle: Is it "SOCK PUPPET"? |
aecurtis | 28 Sep 2008 12:30 p.m. PST |
I'd prefer a few capitals, please. I'd go with "sock puppet", but "sockpuppetry". I used to agonize over "machine gun", when the Government Printing Office style manual insisted on "machinegun". (Professor Kirke is curled up on the chaise longue, moaning.) Allen |

Where do you stand on hyphens, Allen? |
Surferdude | 28 Sep 2008 12:42 p.m. PST |
War Glue is rubbish – got some to review and it was so bad I couldn't bring myself to actually run the review. It is better than pound shop superglue but not as good as the thick stuff you get from model shops. It does little that they say it does and is nothing special – unless you like paying 10 for a tiny bottle that it !!!!!!! Stay clear – just go to the model shop! |
aecurtis | 28 Sep 2008 12:44 p.m. PST |
"Where do you stand on hyphens, Allen?" Un-decided. Allen |

WarGlue, what a name I want PeaceGlue to render pieces a whole. And ellipsos, how do you stand on them Allan

It's called "Warglue" because it's made by boiling down knackered wargs. |
Pictors Studio | 28 Sep 2008 1:52 p.m. PST |
"knackered wargs" is my new favourite expression. I'm going to use it three times tomorrow no matter what. |

Elipsos? I think I would prefer to reserve a compartment rather than to stand. It's a long ride from Paris to Madrid. Ellipses? I prefer standing on a three-point ellipsis. A four-point ellipsis can be wobbly. I move than all images of Halle Berry be banned from the meeting, and replaced with images of Rosario Dawson: picture Is there a second? Allen |

Hmmmm, according to the website, Warglue cures dropsy, increases IQ, and is the only modeller's glue out there that is 100% guaranteed to "enhance" a man in that special way. Why in the name of the Great Cthulu have they been keeping this a secret???? |
John the OFM | 28 Sep 2008 2:41 p.m. PST |

Sayeth Hrothgar the Smelly: "Hmmmm, according to the website, Warglue cures dropsy, increases IQ, and is the only modeller's glue out there that is 100% guaranteed to "enhance" a man in that special way." I wonder if "Smilin' Bob" would be available as Warglue's new spokesman? Ah
who gives a rat's behind? I'm just here to look at pics of Halle Berry and Rosario Dawson. |

I would review a free bottle, but cannot bring my self to spend $20 USD with $4 USD more for postage. I cannot find the amount in a bottle on the webpage, anyone else got better eyes. Also, the actual package instructions are lacking. I thought Gorilla Glue was going to be the best thing ever, but when I read the fine print I discovered you needed to add water to it. It is very strong, but not so easy to do head conversions and add water to the glue. I have done it a bit. Is anything stronger than 2 part epoxy, 5 minute bond. Mix up in small batches on top of water bottle tops with a tooth pick and spread. Also contact cement is excellent for larger items when you want instant bond. Warglue may be the best adhesive in the hobby, but I just cannot bring myself to put out $20 USD to find out, when others work well enough. By the way, we went over all this about Warglue in May, 2007. Some one asked me to clarify a remark I made then about putting dabs of epoxy around a spot of superglue. The Super glue holds until the expoxy is hard. Not a mix, but both types side by side. Usually Contact Cement is better for that. |

I love the pictures of the launch party at Phalanx 2008. Eight baloons and two bottles of Cava. Must've been quite a night. Maybe a few snorts of Warglue would get things going. |
Derek H | 29 Sep 2008 2:11 a.m. PST |
My favourites are the people endorsing this wonderful product. Mostly overweight and staring glaikitly at the camera while holding a bottle of glue in front of them. There's a Paul Reid of Manchester Area Wargames Society – could well be paulatmaws. The endorsement from Geoff Pearson, also from MAWS, would seem to be somewhat less than independent. You can see him serving at the War Glue stand in some of the pictures on other pages. I've seen better promotional websites put together by schoolchildren. |

"Demonstrating the power of Warglue" Does anyone remember the bloke from the Polycel wallpaper-paste advert who stuck a boiler suit to a wooden board with the stuff, climb inside and then be hoised to many hundreds of feet in the air by helecopter? I think we should see this done with this product
less is more
not at several hundred feet, chum! |
GreatScot72 | 29 Sep 2008 5:18 a.m. PST |
@Runs with Scissors-Yeah, I think this thread has more of a party vibe than the launch party as pictured on the website. It is ashame that Paul could not stick around by the punch bowl to answer some questions and deliver some more Warglue zingers for us. I don't know how much more life we can get out of our current material. @demigamer-We do not endorse dowsing sock puppets with superglue, and ESPECIALLY not with Warglue, considering what it did for Paul's 28mm mech. It could potentially live FOREVER. Imhotep! Imhotep! :o) |

ooops my grammer and late night entries,my appologies at that.By the way, yes i am the said person in one of the posts of maws and i was the same as you guys, thinking the price was steep, but what i wrote in this thread is true it does work better than many other glues. If you are going to any of the shows coming up in the uk,please come to the stand and try it out and make up your own mind. ps maws are holding a field of glory bootcamp nov 9th 2008 entry £3.00 GBP each |

Surferdude | 29 Sep 2008 9:03 a.m. PST |
Point is it doesn't work ANY better than the glue you can buy from stands a stone throw distance from the warglue stand but costs 10 quid for 10ml !!!!!! I even went back to it last night to see if I was being too harsh
NO I wasn't I quickly reverted back to the trusty old bottle. And all that bovine waste material about the tip being 'special' and one flick will mean that the top doesn't stick – well this trick is one which works for any of the bottles with drop tips and actually as WG is very thin it tends to send superglue flying all over when you 'flick' – can't actually believe that people are buying this stuff – if it was the wild west we could run them out of town for being venders of'snake oil' !!!!!! |

organise a Major show, and hope to make heaps of cash from doing it. Like they did with Sabre.. Wartwat will
be too tight to do its own viral marketing, so will rope in members of the local clubs to do it for them, failing to check whether said local club members can type in English. WarTwat

well all i can say is come to the warglue stand at game 08 and try it out yourself, bring a model which you know is hard to do and try it out yourself.message for sane max granted my spelling isnt brilliant but next time you slag off someone about grammer or spelling ask first if the person writing it has a problem as this might be the case and the person that you are taking the mick out of might class it as malicious.ok rant over.but seriously try it at the stand and make your own mind up. |
