I have made more progress on my Drop Ship model and reached a point where I would like the views of the TMP community.

I need to decide which engine variant I should go with.

As always comments, suggestions and critisism is ALWAYS welcomed.

Definitely A, but maybe with the thrust nozzles from C….

I marginally prefer C over A but don't think B works for me.

I like the air entry of B and the exit of C but I like the shape of A better. B goes better with the ship itself – it has the same design ideas.

A

A, for the most part.

The intakes on B are nice, not sure how they'd fit the rounded front of A. The general shape of C just looks.. meh, as do the round dome-things on B.

I voted before I looked at the rest of this thread and picked A as well.

jpattern226 Sep 2008 6:03 a.m. PST

A for me.

mweaver26 Sep 2008 6:19 a.m. PST

I think I prefer A.

Nice work!

slobberblood26 Sep 2008 6:21 a.m. PST

I like all three and have been following your drop ship building thread for some time. I particularly enjoyed the contact lens rocket motor piece. Inspired.

Keep up the good work.

C seems to fit the overall model best

"A" has the better engine exhaust. .

I say make one of each and if you go over budget just ask Congress for more $$$ ! Actually … they all look good ! 8-D

wolvermonkey26 Sep 2008 7:38 a.m. PST

I voted for A.

Brandlin26 Sep 2008 7:43 a.m. PST

Thanks for all the votes and comments guys.

I SHOULD POINT OUT THAT ITS THE BASIC SHAPES OF THE ENGINES I'M INTERESTED IN. NONE OF THE ARE FINISHED – ESPECIALLY C WHICH HAS NO SURFACE DETAIL.

please also vote on the blog website – some of you say you have voted for a number, but haven't as its showing zero votes on the poll..

thanks again for your views and votes.

Is it supposed to be reminiscent of the Space 1999 Eagle One?

Agent Smith26 Sep 2008 8:40 a.m. PST

B, but you need two sets of engines (fore & aft) IMHO!

I voted for C because it fit better with the shape and allowed attention to be drawn to the hatch (?) in the middle panel.

I like the thrust covers on C altough the ones on A were very cool also. Maybe you could put the A thrust covers as side acess panels on the blank part of C.

very impressive. Keep up the super work!

Use the jets from C on A's body

Brandlin26 Sep 2008 12:21 p.m. PST

Thanks for the comments guys.

To answer a few questions.

Yes, there will be four engines one in each corner – a little ike an eagle transporter (as is disucssed on earlier posts on the blog) thats an intentional reference.

Dervel Fezian26 Sep 2008 2:13 p.m. PST

A, except flip it over.
