I was reading a post on a meeting between Murphy and Jovian1, and it got me thinking…

What about a poll on which poster on TMP that you would really like to play a game with. IT really does not matter which game, just who who you would like to game with. Meet them, have a few laughs, learn some new gaming tips and just have a good ole time!

Maybe pick about 30 or more of the 'high status' or 'really nice people' posters, and have the people pick their top 5. I also think that maybe a 'write in' slot at the bottom for people to write in someone who you have not thought of…

I think it would be an interesting poll.

Cool poll. For me, though, the list would be very long…

Monkey Hanger Fezian24 Sep 2008 7:10 a.m. PST

Yes as Parzival states, my individual list would be extensive. I wish that I could meet some of the nice people on here who live in the US.

nycjadie24 Sep 2008 7:13 a.m. PST

Too many to count. I would say the crew that I met up with at Historicon would rank pretty high on that list.

Pictors Studio24 Sep 2008 7:15 a.m. PST

nycjadie stated my sentiments exactly.

Ditto to Pictors, but Caribe Cacique lives near where I'll be working for the next 3 months.

thosmoss24 Sep 2008 7:26 a.m. PST

Isn't this pretty much the inverse of the "Stifle" count?

CLDISME24 Sep 2008 7:26 a.m. PST

Since the list will be long I have two suggestions:

Series of polls based on country (and region for the US and Canada).
Select from the Top 50 posters in good standing.

richarDISNEY24 Sep 2008 7:38 a.m. PST

You really can't do it by country, because I am sure that I would love to game with people overseas…

SO far, every one that I have met. LOTS of "good people" here

Connard Sage24 Sep 2008 7:57 a.m. PST

I'd like to play a game or two of Might & Reason or Grande Armee with Sam Mustafa. Even though he's probably heartily sick of the rules by now :)

…or indeed anyone else who understands that it's only a game, not a matter of life and death

Shhh! My minis might hear you! (Looks warily over shoulder)

I'd game with nearly anyone.

Wait, maybe the question was supposed to be "Who on TMP would you *most* like to play a game with?" That makes more sense.

mweaver24 Sep 2008 8:57 a.m. PST

"Who in TMP would you like to play a game with?"

Pretty much anyone!

RudyNelson24 Sep 2008 9:03 a.m. PST

A number of TMP members I have played games with already. Some as far back as 1978.

A few members i would like just to sit down and talk about areas of similar interest. Such as with SM from the UK on American Revolution subjects.

Others for other areas of interest as well.

what's wrong with my posts not posting?

I know its easy to say " All of them", but if you had to pick your top 5 TMPers to play with… It would be a tough choice…

richarDISNEY24 Sep 2008 10:09 a.m. PST

My prob is there is a poster here I play with all the time, and he would still make my top 5 list.

Buff Orpington24 Sep 2008 10:35 a.m. PST

I've played at least 4 of them and will happily play them again. Admittedly 3 are in my club and Phil Walling is a top bloke who will hopefully also get a few games in when he isn't painting.

pphalen24 Sep 2008 12:21 p.m. PST

Of course, we may have decide between the "serious" historical gamers and us "frivilous" alt-gamers…

Historicalgamer24 Sep 2008 1:02 p.m. PST

One of Extra Crispy's spokesmodels !!!!

Historicalgamer24 Sep 2008 1:03 p.m. PST

ColdSteel….coz we miss him here in PA.

RavenscraftCybernetics24 Sep 2008 2:44 p.m. PST

DWW is on the short list. maybe next Origins?

John the OFM24 Sep 2008 2:56 p.m. PST

Well, I HAVE played with some of that same crowd, and one or two of those games are highlights of my career.

Toaster24 Sep 2008 2:57 p.m. PST

Given that I'm stuck in a small town down under I would settle for anyone is a good answer.

Charles Marlow24 Sep 2008 4:42 p.m. PST

"Pretty much anyone!"

I agree!

Col Scott 225 Sep 2008 1:08 a.m. PST

Almost everyone here at TMP. Even in a period I would not normally choose.

Volstagg Vanir25 Sep 2008 12:02 p.m. PST

which TMP'er would youmost like to play a game with

That's the Poll: Top 5-10
Might need to divide it into two parts:
Historical & Non-Historical.
My short list, based on commonality of interests
(in order of persona name length):

Cacique Caribe
Cloud Captain

But I mostly wanna play VSF right now…

Bill: Have you ever thought about running a Convention…?
