Already have got the Dark Future PDFs from the Sepcialist Games website but think that they became a bit 'cumbersome' after a while with all the extra bits and are bound by the track sections.

Want something a bit more 'free movement' and not grid based.

Ideas???

Oddly enough, all indicators point to a packaging mistake that no one would fix. It confused the distributors and led to "low" sales (as in, "we only sold 1/6th of what we brought in, but we don't have any left"). It confused the retailers, and the ones I spoke to couldn't be arsed to correct it in their own Bleeped texting stores. This led directly to confusion for the buyer, and no reorders.

A part of my low opinion of the post-MtG games distributors in the US comes from this tragedy of errors…

The old "Krash" game would fit the bill nicely, I think. Was pretty neat, and you could use Matchbox cars for the base models, upgrading with the various Krash bits (Never terribly impressed with the basic Krash trucks themselves). As I understand it, some extremely bone-headed marketing moves killed the company that produced the game (and others), but you may be able to find components with a search on Ebay.

Definitely a simple game, but it provided us with a good amount of fun in the vein of "Death Race".

Yea. I second Krash! I loved that game. Total conversion and lots of fun.
