After several years I have finally reached a point where I have this in a playable state. Hopefully I will be able to finish it. It is a combination of the original FASA Crimson Skies boardgame and Canvas Eagles.
I have more details and some pictures: link

Cool! Sounds like a good combination, lordsith. Can't wait to see your rules posted to your blog – and more pics, of course!

BTW – who makes that blimp?

Thanks for the interest. The zepplin is a modified paper model of the Akron.

Nice work…very visually entertaining. Can you offer any more information on how you modified that paper Akron? The results are stunning.

The zepplin uses the paper model papermodels.net/p38.html
found here. Instead of the paper engines I used the search light housings from the old 40K tank sprues, they have a nice shape. I airbrushed the model in a light gray since I didn't like the silvered paper look. For the empire state insignia I just took an image from the Crimson Skies web site and enlarged it. The base that the zep is on 1/4" plywood painted in hexes to match the original boardgame. I need to make a new zep and base for the 3d version.

Very cool. Thanks for that.
