A very slow month for me…..Busy with work commitments and just feeling a little unmotivated to paint anything.

Bought
10mm – 149 (135 Russians that I bought last month) and only 14 figures this month (Early war tanks)

Painted

6mm – 27 (WWII aircraft)
10mm – 14 (the 14 early war tanks I bought)
other – 2 (1/144th WWI aircraft)

I also bought via TMP some WWI aircraft (1/144th) but they have not arrived yet so will be added at the end of the month……

Ready locker – 208

Due to work commitments I am thinking I will not meet the pledge of clearing the locker fully for next year, but will keep plugging away.

Septembers plan is to paint 50 figures in total.

I have 2 shows (Partizan and Derby) so I have to be on my best behaviour otherwise the lead pile will rise and rise…..

September might be worse as I will be overseas for Colours but I should be able to stay ahead of it by the end of the year.

Between mail orders and GenCon I bought a mere 25 new figures. The rest of the month I got 11 painted, mostly fantasy pieces. The plan for next month is to work on a few larger pieces, golems, dragons, vehicles…

Just got 100 28mm Zulu war figures in the mail for me. Assembled and cleaned 16 of them tonight. Will prime them tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be able to do about 5 of them a night and get a decent game together for three weeks or so from now.

Not a very active month, but with unprecedented self-control on the buying front, I did make up much of the deficit I left myself in July.

I'm aiming to paint more than I buy. All figures are 28mm unless otherwise noted.

My father died on the 11th so, not surprisingly, I've not painted a thing in August – have nearly finished the terrain for this weekend's Gloire games, though but it looks like the stabled horses required for the 1st scenario will have to come from existing stock rather than the new horses I was going to do as I've still got to paint 12 ornamental trees and "weather" a dozen or so statues for the garden for the 2nd scenario!
I've got a house to clear out now so it looks like any painting's going to be very much on the back burner fttb. At least being busy is stopping me buying anything more as well – although there's the club outing to Colours in a couple of weeks…

Big Martin, I'm very sorry to here about your father.

August is the first month that I've been able to really do anything since injuring my hand in May. I started off with some scratch-building over the last three weeks, which included 15mm masters for a Humvee and a French VBL, and only started painting this weekend. I bought a ton of stuff, as I got a little bonus money from work and decided to finally get my modern African project moving. So here are the the numbers:

So, had a bad month for totals, but it has been a blast getting back into the hobby. I overdid it a bit though, as my hand is a bit sore, so I'll slow down for a few days. Maybe I get the PP figs based and ready for paint in a week or so. Next month will involve some buying, but not as heavy as this month (as I don't have that much money left), so should see me getting back onto the plus side of things.

August was a good month for me, even though I was gone for half of it. I purchased about a dozen Foundry orcs. I painted 40 Norman foot and 20 horses (still need to paint the cavalry). I also painted the 4 Minifigs Sharadan Lords of Darkness that were re-released and a few other odds and ends that I can't recall of the top of my head.

That puts me at around 270-300 for the year. I'm well on my way to the goal of 365 28mm (however, I did count the old Grenadier goblin giant as multiples as it had a few dozen pieces).

I haven't painted in nearly 3 weeks. Can't wait to get back to the painting table.

I managed to paint 24 Soldiers of Minas Tirith. I was surprised at just how well they turned out!
I've also pulled out some eldar from way way back and have rebased the majority and touching up the paint job to be a bit more respectable so I can head down to the local GW and give 5th edition a go. I've also finished off 4 more Reaper figs for a friend aswell.

On the purchase front – ebay has been my friend (or worst enemey depending on how you look at it!). I purchased 6 Eldar scouts, 6 Eldar Fire dragons, 16 LOTR high elves of the last alliance, 2 mounted knights of Minas Tirith, and 2 more reaper figures

Had another good month, much less than I wanted to finish but, life tends to get in the way. Anyway the summary;

435 growth/244 days = 1.783 minis per day.
263 painted/435 bought = 60.5% of growth painted.

Which is behind the purchase goal (<1.5 per day) but still barely ahead of the painting goal (>50% painted). Both are improved from last month, however.

Existing project progress was limited. Warmachine and Battletech projects moved slowly forward, while nothing else moved.

The 15mm WAB project WILL continue to dominate the "working on" numbers next month, as I have 100+ in progress now.

The Flea Market sell off went reasonably well, but I may have unintentionally skunked one of my other projects in doing so. With going on two years of little to no progress on that particular project, selling off most of the waiting minis for it may be a good thing, but we'll see.

The convention and flea market rendered up a few purchases as well, but they are not fully inventoried and a few things may be heading to other people. As such, the purchases will be reported for September.
