There seems to be some confusion on this board; while the description clearly states it's about spaceship combat, we get posts about SF ground combat all the time. A little clarity in the title would help. Just my 2 |

Spaceship gaming would include Space Hulk and other games set on a ship though. How about Aerospace gaming? |

You're doing it on purpose aren't you? |

I just think if you can't grasp "Space Gaming" then you might struggle with other options

I think we need three boards "Spaceship Gaming" "Space Gaming" and "Aerospace Gaming". Maybe even a "Space Gaming Ground Combat with Aerospace Support" and Space Gaming Ground Combat with Spaceship Support". LLC aka Ron |

Based on this thread and a couple recent polls on TMP I get the impression that a lot of the group are getting tired of new boards. I suggest a new poll asking what boards should we get rid of. |

Well, I was serious. SF Discussion seems to be the home for ground combat, Space Hulk, Ogre etc.. I know Space Gaming was created to be about spaceship combat ('cause I was here when it appeared and was happy to see it), simply because ground is to space as ground is to navy; it made sense to separate it out, as the miniatures, scales, tactics, etc., are all completely different between the two. I'm not trying to add a board, just suggesting we clarify an existing board's title. But if it needs to be titled "Spaceship Combat Gaming, and We Mean Spaceships, Not Space Marines Or Alien Marines Or "Aliens" the Movie Rip-offs Or Walking Tanks Or CyberTanks Or Robots Or Anything Not Involving Two or More Spaceships Trying to Blow Each Other Into Orbital Debris, Got It?" that would be fine with me. |

And me. And Bill's posted this to Poll Suggestions, so we could all vote for that

If we name it that we will also need: Spaceship Combat Gaming, and We Mean Spaceships, Not Space Marines Or Alien Marines Or "Aliens" the Movie Rip-offs Or Walking Tanks Or CyberTanks Or Robots Or Anything Not Involving One Spaceship With Critical Navigation, Propulsion, Life Support, Reactor, Etc. Issue, Got It? :-) LLC aka Ron |

Revise and refine to: Spaceship to Spaceship Combat Spaceship Boarding Combat Space Age Combat Space Adventure Combat (this being Starfleet missions, skirmishes on asteroids, other non-military land combat in "space locations," ie not hospitable, built-up worlds) Orbital Battles (near future, hard sci fi satellite combat for control of Earth orbit) Space Saving Combat (arguments with the other half over where to store large terrain pieces) Space Combat (wars over expansion room) MySpace Combat (miniatures games simulating struggles for control of social networking web pages Your-In-My-Space Combat (squabbles between siblings over who's taking up too much of the back seat or who put their foot over the invisible line down the middle of the sofa). Currently, I have that last one going on right now. If anyone wants to make miniatures of my son and daughter I'll build a sofa and right some rules. Andrew |

Would you write wrong rules, or only right wrongs in rules? Allen |

Two wrongs don't make a write |

But three rights do make a left

I think Andrew's right
then you'd know how the rest of us deal with it. |
