The last post regarding this ruleset here on the TMP mentioned the authors were going to host some games there.

Anyone play this ruleset? What do you think? Any reviews anywhere?

I sat in a playtest at Historicon. Some very interesting ideas. Played pretty smoothly. The Command-Control and activation is very easy to catch onto. I was running some cavalry so I'm still unsure about artillery and musketry though. I disliked the orders chits and stuff on the table but that's a personal aesthetic. They seem to be keeping a nice middle ground between historical detail and keeping things simple.

The authors ran several games at Historicon…

I have read them through once. The game breaks the map down into squares and movement is square-to-square. Basing is irrelevant. It is orders driven with each unit having an objective it must move towards.

The rule book itself is a bit disorganized but teh base game includes lots of scenarios and army lists for 1809.

I've actually been meaning to write it up fir The Rules Directory…

I should add: if you're looking for a DBA sort of game, these aren't for you. There is more detail than Napoleon's Battles, but I don't think they're much more complicated. The math and combat resolutions are much simpler than Empire!

The scale was 1:60 btw. 10-12 figure inf battalions, 6-8 figure cav regts.

I really enjoyed playing. I think the rules remove a lot of "discussion" by using the square-to-square movement, and combat was easily adjudicated.
