Did Spanish Militia units called up in 1804 and so already in existence at the beginning of the Peninsular War wear a uniform and if so, what was it? Or did these units only ever wear civilian clothes? I'm thinking of the (four?) provincial grenadier regiments and the 43 embodied militia regiments.

Thanks in advance

Much the same as the line uniform. Red facings for all IIRC. The prov. grenadiers wore a smaller bearskin but I've never seen any 15mm figs with this so I used line grenadiers.

By 1808, they were probably no worse than most of the line regiments.

Thanks PK, that's very useful.
