Hello:

Does anyone know what became of this highly promising project? I was eliminating dead links from my bookmarks and this one ( members.eunet.at/helmet ) is still active. I have "Castiglione 1796" myself, purchased a decade ago, and was anticipating future releases.

Very sad if something happened to the author. As the website describes, great plans were in place for coverage of many campaigns and battles which are sparsely covered, if at all, in English. Some highlights from the site…

>The FELDZUG SERIES is a new book [1998] series on the Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars 1792-1815 published by HELMET, a new Austrian publisher.<

>No.1 of Helmet's Feldzug Series "CASTIGLIONE 1796" describes the battle of Castiglione 5 August 1796<

>No.2 of the titles will be "Marengo 1800". It will be available ( hopefully ) Christmas 1999<

Just curious…

Like you, I only ever saw (and have) "Castiglione 1796".

No idea what happened.

I communicated with the author in late 2007/early 2008 and he stated that the series would continue and the next release would be Marengo. I realize this is a part time venture for Bernard but I, for one, hope he continues with his scholarship and look forward to additional works on the 1796-1797 Italian campaigns.

What Jon said……I send Bernard an e-mail every so often……."Marengo" is next……

Sounds a good idea, so will I, a little encouragement can't hurt…even after a decade.

those news about Marengo are at least also about 5 years old, so far – nothing has emerged, which is a pity.
