Hey guys… My good friend's father has just passed away, and in going through his things, he came across these cufflinks/buttons… (Hopefully this link works…)

link

Could these be of the Napoleonic era, or even possibly Third Empire? The wreath-and-rods are *close* to Kingdom of Naples, but not quite there… He is just curious, and his mother doesn't know where his father had gotten them, but she knows he had them from before they met.

Of course, goodness knows, they could be some "non-military" kind of thing, as well, so again, any information would be appreciated.

Hi Killraven. There are oak leaves in the crown,so I think it is first empire. Eagels came later.

Thanks, ultimate.

I've since seen the *actual* cufflinks, and they aren't the same as the ones in the picture he sent. These have a vermillion/crimson field behind the relief, and the right-hand pole top is pretty obviously a Polish eagle, so they would be Duchy of Warsaw, and, I believe, reproduction, from the look of them.

Thanks for the response, though…
