Hello all. A few questions related to the grenadiers from Austria and Hesse-Darm / Hesse-Kassel

re. Austria – prior to 1798 did Austrian Grenadiers have the decorative bag hanging from their bearskins or was it pinned up high… in other words… do 7 years war figures remain relevant for this period?

re. What was the headgear of the Hesse state's grenadiers? Mitre caps or bearskins or bicorns? Also, did either of the Hessian states retain "trainditional" Fredriken-like Fusilier regiments with fus batts in shallow mitre caps as the Russians did at this time?

many thanks!

Picture of Ottenfeld plate and Plate A1 – Grenadier bearskin with triangular front plate and pom-pom on the right side. Bag is not seen from the front, so I assume it is pinned up.

Grenadier headgear is somewhat confusing. An actual museum pic of a Hesse-Kassel 1785-1806 Gren. cap is Prussian 7YW style.
Plate G3 shows a H-K Gren. Officer Garde-Gren. 1792 in a bearskin with plume on left, hanging bag on right and a large half-oval plate in front.

Plate F1 shows a H-K Fusilier NCO Leib-regt. in Prussian 7YW style Fusilier cap.

Hesse-Darmstadt Gren. headgear is even less clear!

Hope this helps.
