I'm painting up Marshal Grouchy in 15mm. Everything I run across in my Google image searching is him post-1815 sitting for a painting. Anyone have anything (good to excellent photos of your painted miniature are fine by me) accurate as to his uniform?

Heck even an outline of it would be nice:

green coat? blue coat? etc.

Lots of variation among those Marshals at times.

Cheers,

The Bandit

In Old Bear's link that's Grouchy on the left c. 1809 in the uniform of colonel-general of chasseurs. During the Bourbon restoration he was stripped of that title, so, presumably, he would not have worn a chasseurs uniform in 1815.

Any clue what he might have worn as a Marshal in 1815?

I've asked the same question on an older thread but got no answers. Presumably a "standard" marshal's uniform.

i.e. blue with white or tan trousers?

Would Grouchy have had time to get a marshal's uniform?
How long before the campaign started was he promoted?
Maybe he just wore his old General d'Division's dress….which might explain why he had trouble with Vandamme et al.

I for one would paint Grouchy in that nifty 1809 uniform, just for variation and so he stands out. I agree with raducci about having time to get made up for his marshal's uniform in any case.

Well, I completed painting him yesterday and did it per the 1809 print. The deciding factor was that the braid on the inside and outside of the arms was present on the figure I have (OG15s Marshal Grouchy from French Marshals #1 NMG03) and that combined with some other physical features made me think they sculpted him in that uniform probably because they couldn't find any more clear of an answer than we have. Regardless, he be painted and based, I need to flock the stand and some other house keeping (and look at it with clears eyes since I finished the stand after several glasses of wine at 2 AM) but I'll post a few images if people are interested.
