I get home on Sunday and tell my wife I won't be going to Historicon next year. She asks why. I tell her that its the same date as our 32d anniversary and she means more to me than any toy soldier show. Text of remainder of conversation follows (quote): "Whaaaaaaaaaaaat!!! Are you kidding me! What the Hell about what I want? Do you know how much I look forward to getting your ass out of the house and indulging in four days of peace and quiet?" But I . . . "Screw this! Get on the Internet and make reservations NOW! I want to see an electronic receipt or no dinner, among other things, tonight. Do it!" Sure, sweetie. "Can't believe this bozo. Says he loves me then wants to deprive me of the best present I get all year. That . . . mumble, mumble, mumble." At my house, life is good :). Regards, Bill Gray ageofeagles.com |

Congratulations Bill! What a great wife you have. And thank you for the tip on how we should spin it when we all want to go back to Historicon next year: "Honey, how would you like to have six peaceful days all to yourself next summer?" |

Bill I really laughed out loud, moderately glad that my wife was gone. That will let me modify and use when it will be advantage. |

Bill and I played (at least i think Bill waas there then) in a Napoleonics game with about 10,000 castings on my Honeymoon back in the 1970s. My wife and I are about to celebrate 31 years. Go figure! |

Bill, my wife normally doesn't come with me to Historicon, but she did this year. She must have sensed via the women's ESP Network that there would be a wife shortage. So somebody's got to lose. |

You need to check credit card statement, and methinks there will be quite a few charges at the spa and the outlet mall the same weekend as Historicon. |

My wife's and my 7th Wedding Anniversary was SAT night at Historicon
..and she was sitting there at 10pm with me meeting with other TMP'ers
..(talk about TRUE LOVE!!!) In any case
UNLESS the location changes for Historicon, we've decided to forego the HASSLE of 'mobility issues' etc and go to more 'accessible/less crowded' venues
like Fall-In is supposed to be
but in any case
Lady Merrit prefers to go with me
(Amish and Bead/craft stores, Beware!!! 8-) But I know what you mean
'she's a keeper'
only she'll be WITH me
8-) Slishfully, Sgt DWW-bartentacle on duty |

Some of us, I am convinced, must have been Albert Schweitzer or Count Bernadotte in a previous life, in view of the great karma they are now enjoying. I suspect that I myself must have been a concentration camp guard . . . |
