I've just taken the "plunge" and picked up the Napoleonic Deal at the Eureka stand while at Historicon. Beautiful miniatures, and Nic and Rob are true gentlemen!

So, I've got a bunch of early French infantry/grenadiers and Austrian grenzers to paint.

Rather than spending $$$ on all the Osprey's I'd need to cover this period, can anyone suggest either:

1. A one-stop, covers it all well, book of Napoleonic uniform reference, or…

2. Web site(s) that would cover this period, with appropriate color uniform plates?

Failing those, if you can give me some guidance it would be greatly appreciated. I have only a passing knowledge of this period, and other than Eureka's own site I have no clue as to where to find this info.

Many thanks!

Does that mean the Austrians in the 1790s were the same as 1805-15?

What rules are you planning on using? Just asking since I am working on the same figures with the same knowledge and it appears you are less than 30 minutes from me.

I'm planning on using Too Fat Lardies "Sharp Practice" – that is, once I can get a hold of the rules!

Same rules as me. I have them though already. Since you are a member PM me so I can give some details of what I have and planning. Do you play down at the Gamers Realm at all?

Tony:

Since you aren't a supporting member, I can't PM you.

I've played at the Realm a number of times. I also play occasionally at On Military Matters, but that Field of Glory. I'm not really an ancients player, and I still haven't decided whether I'm going to build a FOG army.

I have just the initial Eureka releases – about 60 miniatures in all. I have yet to start painting, and I'm waiting to hear from a few people regarding uniform references.
