I have pretty much milked the net for sources and have many books on the subject but does anyone have any painted figures on the web I can admire? Thanks |

Not yet, but they're in the que. I'm using the Eureka 15's designed to match the AB figures. Are you working in 15's or 25's? I assume you've discovered the Hourtoulle book on Jena Auerstaedt. It's chock full of great uniform plates for the Saxons. Are your musketeers sculpted with 2 cross straps or just one? The Eureka have 2, which makes sense as I can't imagine them going on campaign without the belt that held the hip bag / back pack. Most illustrations however just show the one, but these are almost all invariably dress uniforms. David |

@Photocrinch In case eurka shows one of the cross belts being the strap for the hip calfskin pack, then it is ok, in case they show it as a sabre cross belt they are dead worng for 1806 (this method of carrying the sabre was introduced in the 1809 campaign, before that the sabre was worn at a waist belt). Also do Eureka show the calfskin pack on the shoulder as like for the French or high on the hip, as for the Prussians of 1806?? In case of a back pack, they are wrong for 1806 as well. |

The Eureka Saxons have a crossbelt supporting a hip pack. The sabre is suspended from the waist belt. The cartridge pouch is suspended on the other crossbelt. The figures are shown in detail on the Eureka website (www.eurekamin.com.au) |

Thanks cosmickanga, you saved me the trouble. I'm glad to hear that the crossbelt for the pack are OK. In almost all of the period illustrations I've seen, only NCO's, and grenadiers are shown with the extra crossbelt, but I just couldn't imagine that the rank and file would really be left without some sort of pack on campaign. Thanks guys but I was really looking for links to pictures of ready painted 1806 Saxons. Mine are plastic painting conversions of the Revell AWI British infantry and are not accurate but I am okay with that. |

I'm surprised no one has been brave enough to post a link with some pictures. Certainly some one out there has some 1806 Saxons they would like to show off. Come on guys
