Hi, my first question so please be gentle:-)

I have 28mm figures for an Operation Sealion scenario and I'm looking for a few early war vehicles. I get the feeling it isn't "done" to mix the 2 scales but can any company supply the following in any one scale?
I'm really only after perhaps a Pz38t, a PzII, and a Matilda/Valentine say….
Despite searches on the web I haven't been able to trace manufacturers or suppliers.
Prefer pre-built but kits are fine too.
Thanks

agnminiatures.com

They have a fair selection of early war vehicles, including PzII and Pz38t. They also do a Matilda II, which is very nice.

i found some 1:48 scale pamzer 38s at wal mart from that Ultimate Soldier toy line. They are obviously out of scale with 28mm figs if you look closely but if you dont mix vehichle scales I would say they can still be used. I prefer 1/56 scale myself. I bought some 1/60 tanks at historicon yesterday and they are a bit small. Closer to 25mm but look good if you don't include a tank commander. So my take is go for 1/56.

dooger25 Jul 2008 4:50 a.m. PST

Thanks both; that looks like a good site Grasshopper, any idea how Crusader figures match up sizewise with BAM…??

TodCreasey25 Jul 2008 5:19 a.m. PST

Crusaders a little taller and chunkier but I use both along with Artizan and they are fine for me.

The AGN stuff is great – BAM and AGN are what got me into WWII 28mm. You won't be sorry.

BoltAction25 Jul 2008 5:53 a.m. PST

AGN are a great place to get early war vehicles. Also don't foget Chieftain miniatures, although they are in the UK. They do a good range of early vehicles.

Dude, go down to a Toys R Us store. 1:48 scale Pz38t can be had for $7.49 USD each. Pk IVD, Kubelwagens, and Schwimwages at one time for another. Local WalMarts stopped carrying them.

I don't know if the move has been successfully completed and they're re-open for business, but The Wargames Command Post carries AGN vehicles in the UK, dooger:

(As well as BAM figures etc., too.)

Its worth a look, as there are a few British models you can use too.

The 1/48th diecast 38T is OK, but try finding stuff to go with it, You'll find its very limited.

Thanks, Nigel.
I also have the Vickers Light Tank, Matilda II, Austin K5 truck and the Morris CS9 LAC. The PzII F has just arrived.
Stronghold Miniatures do a nice 1/56th Beaverette and some rather spiffing Home Guard figures with heavy and unusual weapons. Company B do two versions of the Morris CS8 truck.
Earlier versions of the PzIV and PzII are on the cards, but you need to keep it light in armour, as it would be unfair on the British defenders, until my 1/56th HMS Rodney is finished.

I've found these vehicles form The Ultimate Soldier at either Wal-Mart or Toys-R-Us in 1/48 scale. Panzer 38(t), Marder III Sd.Kfz. 139, Marder IIIM Sd.Kfz. 139, Panzer IV Ausf.D and Panzer IV Ausf. H. All at $7.49. For crew men for the Marders I use some of the figures for Targa 1/48 Tiger I. If these are not available in England I could get some for you. Let me know. Mike

deldietch26 Jul 2008 4:15 p.m. PST

Hey Ian, you building the Marder III with the 76mm Russian gun to go along with your 38T? I'm too lazy to do it… and you already have the base components.

I have been eyeballing converting our Morris to the C/9B 40mm Bofors version. Depends on how many guys in the UK would be keen on one.

andygamer27 Jul 2008 12:34 p.m. PST

AGN also has Mk.I 3-man Bren carrier, and the Mk.I Scout Carrier that aren't yet posted at the Web site but that you can see here:

Hi Guys,

Any idea where I could get one (or many) 1/48 scale T-34 tanks? I know Corgi had one but it seems to be out of production now.

Thanks.

andygamer25 Jan 2009 12:39 a.m. PST

Are plastic model kits okay, Paul? Tamiya has one. And if 1/56 would be acceptable (as a last resort?), then AGNM also has T-34/40s.

And the early Universal Carrier photos are now up at the AGNM site.

Have you seen just how aggressive our GI`s look?LOL!

Caesar28 Jul 2009 5:56 a.m. PST

I'm a 1/48 person but I think the selection for early war favors 1/56.

Brandub03 Sep 2009 2:26 p.m. PST

I´ve been searching for vehicles and guns for the polish Army in 1939. I could only find the 75mm gun and the Tankette from BTD and some british Vickers tanks, which might be convertable to the polish version or the PT7. As Poland mainly used imported tanks, I have been looking for French and british stuff too. But I could find no Bofors 40 AA Gun, not FT18 and no H35. Any ideas?

GOTHIC LINE MINIATURES28 Oct 2009 4:33 p.m. PST

A great selection of tanks and armoured cars from Solido :the famous R-35 a lot of the fled from Poland to Rumania in 1939.

deldietch28 Oct 2009 10:10 p.m. PST

in 1/56, you have:

BEF specializing in early war. I know Ian does the R35, Char D1, Char B1.

Warlord has the TKS tankette

Numerous manufacturers make the T-26 tank, which can be converted to the 7TP easily (AGN, Company B, Force of Arms, etc.)

AGN does the R35 and H39 as well.

We'll have a new Vickers lend lease tank fairly soon as well…

Also for 1/48 Gaso.line has all the tanks armoured cars and vehicles you could possibly want,Wespe has a very good catalog with almost everything that moved on wheels or tracks in WW2!!!
