I've asked this on other online wargamer discussion joints but I hadn't thought to ask on TMP until now.

I'm actually 10 miles west of Mehoopany, roughly 13 miles east of Dushore PA. This area is about an hour north-ish of Wilkes-Barre PA and an hour west-ish of Scranton PA, where John the OFM's group meets on nights that I'm working.

I once had, and hope to have again soon, a gaming area in my basement where I can host games, force people to try my latest game design experiments, impose draconian attendance policies, cause people to complain that there's no beer, and otherwise do what game hosts do.

In case there are any survivors out there who remember back that far, I hosted the BAGS club games in Bloomsburg PA back in 1986-1993, and HOGS club games in Budd Lake NJ back in 1995-2001.

It is part of the Greatrer Tunkhannock Metroplex.

Yes, thanks John, I meant to say that but forgot. (slaps forehead)

My house is something like 15 to 18 miles west-ish of Tunkhannock PA, on Route 87.

I also forgot to mention that the latest game design experiments cover non-computer-assist fast-play Pre-Dreadnought naval and computer-assist WWII rules (Tankbase lives! Sort of.)

Little too far for me, unfortunately. I live in the Lehigh Valley…

"It's within an afternoon's driving distance of Shickshimmy and Wapwallopen", he said helpfully.

An hour anna half away from Bloomsburg or Williamsport?

Er…

Update for anyone still reading: I'll be running the very first playtest of "Shove Off Gridley", my latest naval miniature ruleset, on August 2 2008 at Adventure Games in Dickson City PA (a bit north-ish of Scranton). The gathering starts at the usual time of 6pm.

Anyone wanting directions, and coming on I81, I84 or the PA Turnpike, contact me for directions.
Jake (Dave) puts on good games, AG is easy to get to, and our group is easy to play with.

I had a typo above. It is, of course, "Schickshinny", and NOT "Schickshimmy". What an elementary mistake.
